pitch inspection at 6.10pm ahead of tonight's game with Morecambe.

A further announcement will be made in due course.

How frustrating - do I set off or not?

thats a joke, if they have to have 2 inspections in such a short time, surely they should call it off

I hope that this game goes ahead and doesnt get abandonned, for the sake of all our travelling fans.

I assume that, at 5.30-ish, the rain may have eased off a bit and, with people working on the pitch, the ref was giving them half an hour to see if they could get it playable. It's a no win in these situations for the officials sometimes.

We all must have heard of instances when it's called off then brightens up and, by kick off time, is perfectly playable.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

i waited in the car at 520pm in the club car park waiting for the refs decision it was absoluuely heaving it down
i met julian wilson who was helping commentary tonight and we both walked insode the ground around 545pm and watched 2 groundsmen with forks trying to fork the pitch but it was hopeless as the 12 or so officials/staff on the pitch could see
pools of water in at least five bad areas and water on the near touchline
this area of grass called a pitch is an athletics field and used as a rugby pitch
its not a football pitch so is it fit for the purpose of league football?
the pitch looked dreadful
couldnt see why mr kettle waited a further half hour to be honest as heavy rains and a heavy pitch without any real drainage wouldnt have helped
the rotherham chief exec said in the radio interview on bbc sheffield at 615pm that this game would have gone ahead at millmoor so obviously he wasnt happy and could see what everyone else could see a third rate pitch used for league football
you wonder how they managed to stay in the league or why the fl allowed them to use this pitch its not the first time theyve had a waterlogged pitch yet sheff wed played tonight
he also said he would ring our club and arrnage for a game later in the season so lets hope the football league allow that as they didnt with the grimsby game
i cant recall ever reaching a ground for a game to be called off im wondering if anyone can ive been on route to a few that have though but its been a rare occurence in the past
it had been raining in that part of the world heavily from around 230pm so i suppose three hours of heavy rain isnt a long period of time but i willgo back to the point about their pitch
theyre at home saturday as are sheffield eagles
bet the rugby game will be on no problem.................

kfc fully loaded box and 7up was nice though

I logged on to Morecambe World not knowing the match was off.
I would like to officially apologise to you for calling you a lazy bugger
when I got connected and heard nowt!!

In the early nineties I got on a plane at 6.00am sydney to fly to Melbourne for a test match.
Beautiful morning all round,
By the time I got to Melbourne, it was pouring down, so I had a few beers and watched a matinee of the Aussie Ballet.
Cost me about $750.00 all it said on the news was.
Australia V England
Rain stopped Play.
Ah well, the beer was good.
8-)

The pitch was a topic of conversation on the Indies Mini Bus and the thoughts were that if Rotherham cannot meet fixtures by NOT having a pitch fit for purpose, how the hell can they remain in the league.

So, do they compensate every travelling group of fans - like hell they would.

Football League -THEY are having a laugh.
