New Ground

Postby P/T Indie » Mon Mar 02, 2009 9:13 pm

Just seen on the official site they hope to have Westgate W's new facilities finished by the 30th March :o blimey that is impressive thought it would have taken ages to get the ground down there sorted never mind getting all of it built. How long have they been working on it 2 months if that?

Freez can you just confirm is the building and the new pitches on the main king George's field or is it the field which the bungalows from Levens Drive backs onto? I thought it was the Levens Drive field in which case I thought draining the land would take for ever but maybe I have the wrong field.

To be fair, I thought it was the Levens Drive field but the agreement is for two pitches to match what they have at Westgate so you are right, it is the old King Georges two pitch arrangement.
The new building and car park is being built on the site of the old changing rooms which were persistently set on fire and eventually knocked down around five years ago.

So let's hope they put up a decent security fence to protect it.

Will try and take a pic this week and post it on here. They are not hanging around.

Will they need to? It sounds like the staff at HH have nothing better to do than look out the windows

Whoops and there was me writing into the visitor defending the decssion to build on the fields by saying it was only one field that was never used

I am sure the picture of the original plans were for the Levens Drive field.

You could be right, perhaps there were drainage cost problems, as the field you are referring to is wet 10 months of the year.

As for looking out the window and seeing the siteworks, can see it now.
And you keep posting during work time also!!
