Choose any from the following:
1. Wolves (PSF Home): 6-1.
You have to bear in mind that Dave Jones had intended to bring only half his squad and the other half was going to Kettering. In the end, due to bad weather in the Midlands, he brought the full squad up. Admittedly a few of their first teamers didn't play but their side, newly in the Premiership included the likes of Oleg Luzhny and Paul Ince. At 3-0 they brough on some subs, mainly reserves, who were a bit more hungry and quickly brought in back to 3-1. So we brought on our kids Jonathan Smith, Paul Lloyd etc. and promptly battered them.
2. Wolves (LC Away): 3-1
We were much better, in my opinion, than against Preston NE. A truly incredible atmosphere and while PNE was good and Wembley brilliant for me this was the greatest ever feeling I've had at a Morecambe game. Still unbeaten since my little boy Liam was born.
3. Woking (Conf away) 6-0
We played well first half but 0-0 and then in the second half everything we touched just came off. Marked the emergence of Danny Carlton as a striker.
4. Hull City (FAC home) 0-1
I know we lost but a/ we were robbed because Tommy Miller scored and b/ it was a turning point for the club because we knew that after years of crowds of 300 or so we could attract a crowd again if we produced the goods on the pitch.
5. Margate (FAT away) 1-0
Thommo's incredible cross for Johnnie Norman to smash home was an absolutely sublime moment on a gorgeous evening in Kent.
6. Crawley Town (Conf away) 3-1
Dressed as cowboys. Perks only competitive goal for Morecambe FC; knocked his tooth out celebrating; gave him an inflatable cactus to mark the occasion; superb day out; and the Crawley bar was like one out of Dodge City, 'we don't like strangers in these parts' but we didn't care.
7. Southport (Conf away) 2-1
They were fourth in the Conf and we were mid-table. We were pretty shit for most of the match and Carl Baker was orchestrating things for them. Drenchy made a hatful of saves and they hit the post, I think, twice but only trailled 1-0. We managed to equalise with a header by Blackie that was at least three feet over the goaline nodded back in for Jimbo to finish. Then a good run from Yatesy, that looked like a cross sneaked in at the far post. We hung on for the win. Southport went on the greatest losing streak in history and got relegated and we went to get promoted to the Football League. Merry Christmas!
8. Exeter City (Conf PO Final) 2-1
What else.
9. Fleetwood Town (NPL home) 3-3
Three down with the wind blowing at 50 mph. Second half 3-3. All on a pudding of a pitch in front of about 450. A very entertaining game for all the wrong reasons and a realisation that things were only going to get better.
VIVE LA REVOLUTION!
