But actually doesn't it show the ridicularity of the FL? When you look at the figures about capacity and percentage full, it's clear that most teams in the league operate on a matchday well below capacity and had been overly optimistic in their projections. In which case, don't you think that the FL would have looked upon us a little more favourably when imposing the transfer embargo. Clearly we were one of many teams in the same position. Trouble is, we probably didn't cook the books well enough. The economic downturn has affected most clubs, but there was no allowing for this fact when imposing the embargo so rigidly.

As it is, perhaps it's done us a favour, as we have no real new faces to pay, and our upturn in fortunes has been as a result of the players and staff we already had getting on with the job despite the handicap of the embargo. I guess the FL would say that's the idea, and our relative success proves that the embargo system works. Not sure Chester would agree though!

If Accy only lost 60k a year on their crowds that's not bad going compared to what we loose a year.

I really think a lot of clubs will struggle in the next year and we could be looking quiet healthy by the times te first year income from the new ground comes through.

The % full becomes a bit misleading. For example, our ground though it can hole 6000+ is not the same as building a 60'000 ground when you're only going to get 20'000. We've hardly wasted money investing in making our ground too big, the margins are less when it's a smaller ground. The article does highlight some important points and should make us all thankfull about how well the club is being run.
