That is a very good point...
Compared to underwater casinos and sleeping rough while buying a football club, I suppose you are right, Oyston would be preferable... Which is in itself, indicative of the mess we're in

How much lower can we sink than getting into bed with a convicted rapist.

No need to use that type of language in ANY SV topic especially when we have a number of younger readers.

Peter Risdale is no different to PMG.

PMG legacy as gone, after getting a fantastic sale price for CP, he then took a unnessery gamble on the Globe, built an Awful ground and now abandoned ship, no different too the Peter Risdale Story and Leeds United, after taking a gamble what then back fired.

I agree with Tattohead, although it’s Owen who is the convicted rapist - not Karl, who instead just comes across as a bellend.

So you'd prefer the club to die and end up like numerous others......rather than accept the life line that could be provided by the likes of the Oystons etc.

I've long advocated a local consortium buy out but that appears nothing more than a pipe dream and appears to as far away as ever it was.

Obviously I come from the camp that prefers to see our club survive whatever the regime and if that means the Oystons or someone similar taking over..then so be it.

Except PR then went on to do the same at Cardiff City and Barnsley, taking both to within mins of admin, also has been banned by the Courts from being a company director for malpractices...PMG might have been at worst misguided but surely can't be compared to PR...the Oystons on the other hand..

I always like it when people quote their complaint, so that there is twice as much to clean up. A bit easier to do that rather than just click the [report] button.

I can normally see the warped logic behind CC's posts but you are on your own here. You would welcome Karl Oyston in to the clubs boardroom? The man who has sued fans whilst being in the wrong the whole time? The man who swindled £11,000,000 in wages? The man who asset stripped the club and showed utter contempt to the fans who stopped following their club in order to cut the head off the snake? Did you see his private plate? The photo next to the bill board?

I suggest you sign in to BackHenryStreet.co.uk and post what you have said in here.

Could be worse - without a new owner, it's bankruptcy, relegation and freefall into lower leagues. We may not even have a club if the receivers lock The Globe like they've done with the 3g pitches and community block and refuse access.

Morecambe FC as we knew it is on the verge of dying anyways. The stuff that made it special has gone. If we get someone like Cala or KO, it will just be a shell of a club. The name will be the same but everything else will have gone.

A phoenix club with the right people involved is looking better every day.

Reminds me of the time I stepped on what I thought was a sycamore leaf but was actually a neatly arranged dog turd.

If the Oystons took over MFC this forum would be finished, that's for certain at the very least.

Despite claims that I'm on my own regarding the Oystons and our club, some posts albeit a minority suggest that if it means the survival of our club then their money whilst far from ideal is better than the death of our club.

Whichever way you look at it, Blackpool FC was saved from going under by the Oystons and in the process Bloomfield Road was redeveloped with Oystons money. If they ploughed money into our club which saw us benefit both on and off the field then so be it.

This entire discussion is purely academic as the prospect of a takeover by the Oystons is highly unlikely.....or is it.... :?: :?: :?:

Owen Oyston has put his Daughter and Grandson in charge at Blackpool so there is no chance of him coming to Morecambe.

Rumour is Karl is going bankrupt so he won't be able to buy a footy club.

Then there is the small matter of the outstanding £24mil.

Not happening.

With the guarantee of the club being financed in the short term, what do my fellow SVers feel will happen as and when that guarantee comes to an end, as it surely will :?:

I'm sure that nobody wants to see the death of our club but without new investment from somewhere then that could be the scenario that could unfold. The prospect of a local consortium taking control is highly unlikely, unfortunately.

I doubt if any of the current Board despite the dedication of RT in particular and others have the financial clout to even contemplate a buy out, so what as fans of our club do we expect will happen and is their any prospect of investment from as yet an unknown party or parties that would meet the approval of a majority on here.... :?: :?: :?:

We should be pestering the foreign based Briton interested in buying Blackpool.

Have to say the prospect of having an Oyston at the helm, given that we are in dire need of a new owner and new investment is a bit like going to Booths on a Saturday, spending a tenner to get a free paper, then finding they've only got the Daily Mail left! :o

None of us know what will happen then. The only chance for us that I see is if one of us wins the lottery before then. Wow, fancy that :o
