This new board is rubbish

Postby shrimper » Sun Jun 29, 2008 10:30 pm

.. I don't like it because it's slightly different to the other one and one or two things are a bit, well not quite the same and I'm used to things being as they are. If things change I feel threatened and insecure. Oh why did it have to change? Things were fine as they were. Why did they have to go and change it, now they've gone and got me all confused again, Momma! They know what happens when I get confused, Momma!

Momma: No, Glen, put that down! For mercy's sake, no Glen!

But Momma, those men, they said things would be all right, they said everything was gonna be fine - why did they have to change it? Was it Keith, momma!? Mmmm? was it? Was it Keith?
Or was it.... Mark?
Mark, yeah, that's who it was. It's all Mark's fault - just cos someone had a different opinion he has to go and change it all and get me all confused agin! Just cause he wuz a moderator....

We'ell he's not one now! They can't protect him now. Why I think I might just go and have a word with Mark, Marky Marky Mark. MAAAARRRRKKK!

Momma: No, Glen, no come back, come b-b-baaaaaaaackkk!
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

It's okay, I've taken my tablets now.

I was just amazed that we hadn't had any 'complaints' about the new board. Whenever boards like this change usually the first few days see them filled with threads bemoaning the change. And usually, when you analyse it, it's merely because people don't like change, there's nothing really wrong with the new version and pretty soon everyone gets used to it and is quite happy.

So I thought I'd parody that attitude...... and got a bit carried away late at night.

Well done to all concerned in the previous SV and the conversion to this and I'm sure, as Brian says, there's more development to come that we can all get involved in helping with constructive suggestions.

Will you lot just leave Mark S alone. He did a fantastic job on the old shrimpsvoices. Just because some people cannot cope with or don't want to change.

Tough titties.

Just grow up.

This is exactly the type of bickering that lowered the tone of the old board! If you carry on like this, I'll put a question mark on the end of your log in name again!

Fine here on a resolution of 1024 x 768. What's your resolution set at? - I can see there being scrolling left to right at anything smaller than that.

New forum? This is exactly what the "old" forum would have looked like if it had been upgraded.

Fancy something different? Well, it can be skinned (this red look & feel is just a skin). Check out this site where the skins can bee seen and downloaded (by keith).

http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/

Try picking some of the different styles from the drop-down option in the top left (ignore the blue top, that just displays the style's details). The data is always the same data, it's just the view of the data you're changing.

So, welcome to the new old forum ;)
