Excellent result.

Just how good has Wayno been since he played a bit deeper.....

If playing deeper means scoring 1.5 goals per game...PLAY HIM DEEPER!!

Well done Waynaldo, he is a terrific example to anybody who perseveres and works hard.

On the contrary ezz I remember several people complimenting the team at Barnet (Jody being one - where is she now?)...anyone who was at Barnet saw Wayne play a tough, in your face game and our lads not only scored one of the 'goals of the season' that day, but started to play a bit more as a team. From that game on we gradually improved and the results of late are once again...just the beginning.

Assist by Twiss? Not sure if it will count as his assist, he crossed for Howe but the keeper saved well. Wayne then followed up the rebound. Good run and cross from him, Wayne could/should have had two in the first half and we had a couple of good chances in the second. Drummie had a poor first half before scoring our goal of the season in the second, a rocket from at least 30 yards out, probably more!

All in all, a good three points in a game that we bossed and never looked in danger of losing. Everyone played well, Curtis MotM First Half, Adams or Jimbo probably MotM Second Half.

Gary Hunter booked for comic value!   Two balls on the pitch, play going on, Gary thrashed the ball through the players who were playing with the 'live' ball, in to touch! Booked (I'd guess) for Ungentlemanly Conduct but the ref probably should have stopped play to remove one ball.

I like these choice words from their local newspaper:

"Morgan is big but not strong enough and was easily marshalled by Morecambe’s beefy captain, Jim Bentley. Looking at Bentley, talk of the British motor industry being on the wane is, appropriately, wide of the mark; watching Morgan ambling along in neutral is not so encouraging.

Bentley and his fellow defenders are more front row forwards than back four; they would look more at home at Bath RFC’s Recreation Ground than Aldershot Town’s.

But they were far too mobile for Morgan and Jake Robinson

Stuart Drummond showed how a bit of initiative can bring reward when, after being presented with the ball by a poor clearance by Davies, he thumped a speculative drive from 35 yards, which went straight through the fists of a startled McCarthy

By then Wayne Curtis, a burly northerner in the Bentley mould, had already twice steamrolled through Aldershot’s defence."

So, with The Shots all at sea, the visitors sailed back to Morecambe Bay with all three points — and Waddock now has a tough job to raise his side out of The Doldrums.

Good fair report. With puns & word-play like the above, I can only assume Matt has got new gainful employment!
