Total B******. Came in through the season ticket holders gate onto North Stand and didn't see anyone selling tickets. This was about 2.55pm when there are a lot coming through. Seemed to happen fairly often with open the box tickets also? Very hit and miss. When we need every penny we can get it's poor really. Perhaps Uncle Ken could have a word with the kids who sell them not to clear off till after everyones in.

Very confusing, although I picked it up after reading my programme. Got in at 2.45 through the far side of the North Stand from Lancaster Road and saw no one selling tickets. Surely it can't be hard to get a few kids to stand on each entrance selling them for 45 minutes 2.15 till 3?

They normally wander around the ground for half an hour into the game selling the tickets. Ken said Mick O'Brien provided the balls, I thought it was Mick Dennison?

There wasn't anyone at that gate yesterday, the guy that normally stands there didn't turn up. But if you shout through to the main stand turnstiles i'll normally be stood there :)

Can someone please explain this new game? :?
All I could hear was Ken not swearing as much as usual and talking about balls.
He seemed to be saying though I'm not sure that there were white balls and red balls and if the person picked out a black ball he would be blackballed for the next home game but might win Ladbrokes vouchers or was it £10? Then I heard him say something about next time it will be £600.00. Totally and utterly confused. :shock: :shock:

8 balls in the bag

White = £0
Red =£10
Yellow =£20
Green = £30
Brown = £40
Blue = £50
Pink = £60
Black = £ jackpot £, can keep rising above the £1000 limit that open the box had

the £25 bookies voucher is given to the winning ticket holder

well that's how i understood it

From the "Open the Box" thread last week - I can't see how it can be explained any clearer :?

I know most of the details are now public but Sir K. asked me to put this up on S.V.'s:

"Saturday 14th February, Morecambe v Chester City sees the introduction of the new half time draw replacing "Open the Box" called "We've got the balls". The game is based on snooker. The winning number will get to draw out one of eight balls in a bag. If they draw the Black ball they will win todays jackpot of £500, the Pink £60, Blue £50, Green £40, Brown £30, Yellow £20, Red £10 and the White £0.
So unless he or she draws out the White ball they will be a winner.

We have also got "We've Got the Balls" kindly sponsored by Ladbroke Betting and the lucky winner will also receive £25 worth of betting vouchers as an extra bonus prize. As with "Open the Box" the jackpot will increase by £100 per home game when tickets are sold, but unlike "Open the Box" the game will not stop at £1000 but will continue to increase until won.

I know many supporters have been against dropping "Open the Box" but let us give the new game a chance, we can always revert back if it does not take off and please remember the games are to raise much needed finance for the club.

Finally a big thank you to Ladbroke Betting for sponsoring our new game and Mick Dennison of the York Hotel for purchasing and supplying the snooker balls" Ken Parker

There you go from the horses mouth - No excuses for not buying a ticket on Saturday
