Interesting thing here is that Mr Williams and Mr Cala, feel that Diego is not to blame, they are quite damning on their assessment regarding the operation of the club over the last few years, ''overcomplicated and stagnant'', Mr Cala is far from squeaky clean himself , but he was still being courted by the club until last week, I have typed and deleted several conclusions to this paragraph but will have to leave it unfinished as it could be seen as libellous.

PMG owns the club - because he's got millions of shares see
Diego owns the club - nope Diego owns the club as his name's on the paperwork
Graham Burnard owns the club - because he changed the paperwork after the event
no Abdullah owns the club - because he actually spent some money

Yay! Welcome Abdullah!

I think your and my general position over the last few months are brilliantly summed up by Mr Williams.

"About the Club’s situation, Mr Williams, said: “It's obvious over the years a lot of good work has been done at MFC however this seems to have been undone over the last couple of years and sadly the club is in a toxic state and is rudderless and surrounded by an air of internal bitterness".

"There is most definitely love and appetite for the club from both the public and the business community, however they have lost all faith in the current regime and know a change is required.”

There's very few people who've stood up and said this and just glad it's out there. Maybe see if he wants to own the club.

A Williams and Abdullah consortium, with presentation on the board from the supporters trust, and possibly a ''Christie trust'' member, if there is such a thing?

Trust in almost anyone at the club is now sadly impossible.

The current board have lost the right to run a football team for the town of Morecambe.

Seems to me that we(the supporters) have been kept in the dark and treated with total contempt. As far as fans go, we are a very mild bunch and I think the Board have used that against us. We have had our pants pulled down by the people we thought had the clubs interest at heart but sadly this was misplaced.

Do we go down fighting or let our club sink to oblivion with a whimper?

That's been clear ever since the move. Complete disregard for the fans as the board concentrate on the prawn sandwiches/corporates. Don't forget that "some" of the long established board members resigned in 2013 citing disagreement with the way the club was being managed - the warning signs were there long ago! The reduction in the fans can be directly attributed to the way in which the management have treated them with contempt.

Nigel Adams is not part of the Board
Look I love Rod but a divided boardroom is not good for the football club is it not?

Well done staff

Postby Davison879 » Tue Jan 24, 2017 11:19 am

Shall we think of the staff that are at the Globe everyday? They go in speak to the public answer enquiries, open up, close up, all with no-one at the helm!! What must they be going through??

Well done guys.

I have every sympathy with the staff but if I were them, I'd prefer to know the truth and have time to find employment elsewhere before I find my office door locked.

Ok, this is my first post in a very long time. I'm very much a fan from afar, these days, and am of the opinion that as I rarely, if ever, see the team play then it's not my place to offer comment on that side of the club. However, this whole mess of a takeover saddens me. I spent my youth watching Morecambe, home and away. Some members of my family continue to attend, one 60-70 years down the line! I have a strong personal connection to the fabric of the club as it was at Christie Park through my Grandad, Clarrie Hollings. It angers me what Peter McGuigan has done to the club since that now ill-fated move to the the Globe Arena. There has been very obvious mismanagement since the day the first sog was dug. The current situation has been inevitable for at least 4 years. I very strongly feel the ex-Chairman has sold the club and it's fans down the river. Whatever the truth about this takeover, it's abundantly clear that those who negotiated this sale have made possibly the most terrible business decision of their career. With the future of the club in serious doubt, the steps being taken to set up a trust is highly welcome. I'd be more than happy to contribute in whatever small way I can to any membership scheme despite the fact I never see a game. We've learned more in the last three days through the intrepid investigations of a local radio station than we have for years. As more is discovered, the more incompetent the executive managers of the club over the last few years appear. Good luck to those at the coal face of the trust. You have the support of this long lost fan!

A brilliant post.

All this makes me wonder what the likes of the long serving and legendary Clarrie would have made of it all.

It just saddens me all this mess we find ourselves in. It really does. :(
