I doubt he'll be here for Tommorrow (i hope he is), I think in time for Rochdale on Tuesday would be more realistic. Or anyone else Sammy is looking to bring in.

Even if he were available to play tomorrow (having done the deal and completed all paperwork in time for whatever deadlines must be met!), would we really want to risk playing someone who might not have met the squad, let alone trained with them?

Players at this level cant really afford to ignore bigger clubs with better wages, the fact that your a fan of your home town club clouds your judgement, they are infact playing football as a career and they can only play till they are around 35.....so make as much money as possible!
Get over it ;)

With the amount of players avaliable at the moment, is it an option to leave anyone out? Anyhow, its only Chester ;)

I don't think Duffy was at the training ground today....but somebody new was!

Haven't a clue who he was............ before anybody asks.

Can only describe him as looking like Charlie Lea of years gone by.

Duffy might not be the first face SM brings in, it may be a central midfielder who we desperately need at the moment

oh and Howard was suppose to be back any time now, last i heard :? , could do with a decent leftback!

I agree - as I said at the start, it may not be Duffy immediately (though I think we'll still go for him).

Perhaps a loanee central midfielder first though?

"Charlie Lea in years gone by" says Christie's Child.

Then Emmanuel Panther could be on his way here.

MARK Duffy is poised to become a Morecambe player on Monday, writes Phil Kirkbride.

February 9 is likely to be the day when he officially makes his move to the League Two outfit as the transfer window re-opens for loan deals.

Morecambe were three minutes late in faxing over transfer documents on Monday evening but have since appealed to League chiefs, claiming mitigating circumstances affected the deal going through.

Duffy (pictured) passed a full medical at Christie Park on Tuesday night and has agreed terms.

Port boss Liam Watson said: “He is still our player but has signed a pre-contractual agreement with Morecambe to sign on July 1. In effect, he has signed to become their player, agreed terms and passed a medical.”

Meanwhile, Blue Square Premier side Woking have enquired about want-away goalkeeper Steve Drench, after Port rejected Cambridge United’s bid to re-sign the 23-year-old on loan.

Adams has been one of our better players this year but only since we switched to five at the back. He was quite poor at the start of the season when we were playing a back four but he has hardly put a foot wrong whilst playing centre back.

Yes, as a central defender...

when we got knocked out of the FA cup Barry Hayles skinned him time & time again, when he played in the back 3, and he's been beat a fair few times in the air when marking set pieces because of his lack of hight

his awareness/experience is 2nd to none, you cant just rely on that on its own

/Agree

I think he can still do a job for us next season as a centre back but for the 10/11 season, we should be looking to go back to a 4-4-2 to give us more width and we need someone faster to replace him.

worth keeping, am not saying get shut of him, but unless Howard sorts his fitness out by the sumer, id say a signing a left-back is a priority!

id love another Adam Yates with a left foot

Personally, I'd love Ryan McGivern on a season long loan with Wainy moving over to the right but I'm not sure if Man City would let us have him.

An unfair comaprison to make seeing as Barry Hayles is a League One player. How often has Danny been caught out since the switch to 5-3-2? It's not very often and certainly no more than any of the other defenders.

he's been caught out a fair few times, and Barry Hayles was a example if Morecambe are to progress up the league, Left back is a position what needs strengthening

and the other Morecambe defenders you mention

McStay = has pace height and like Adams as awareness
Bentley = has no pace but! as Ariel ability and a good leader, and also as awareness
Yates = need i say?
Artel = wins 95% of balls in the air, cant pass for shit, but clears danger
