As Marky 1 said in another thread the pitch inspection news can be gathered in the warmth of the York with bacon and sausage butties on sale as well as the bar open from 1030.

so we can all have a sausage butty and a pint in the sure and certain knowledge that we wont have to set off for nothing. Maybe we should take in a game somewhere else if it is called off. good luck to the ground staff.

Game going to be off

Just had a call from TTNYear who's gone down to be one of the Saturday morning volunteers and after conversations with the groundsman, it's gonna be called off.

Sounds like even taking the covers off will be a pointless exercise so they're not bothering.

So if you were planning on going down, don't bother

all the more reason for playing more mid-week games early in the season, when the weather & pitches are in decent condition.

Still down to an inspection at 11am but overnight temps dropped to -6 and current pitch side temp is -3.

why they have to wait till 11 o clock is totally stupid....the game should be called off now and then it allows people chance to do something else with there day - at least a mid week trip to spotland is not too bad it could have been worse it could have been exeter or luton

Personally I'd prefer for the game to be called off.

With Rene out through injury it would mean that he would have to serve his 1 match suspension v Lincoln with his return to action hopefully against Chester. If todays game goes ahead, he'll miss today and Tuesday, as Sammy reckons 2 games and he'll be back.

That's assuming that the home game v Lincoln goes ahead. But knowing how the infamous Umbro stand doesn't allow the sun to get onto certain areas of the pitch, the deep freeze could claim yet another casualty.

I dont see your logic there Neil. I thought today would have been an ideal time for Rene to serve his ban, while he is injured.

However, if Sammy is saying that he will be out for two games anyway due to the injury, it is academic I suppose with him missing Tuesday now through the ban.

Howe wasn't banned today, the ban starts 7 days after the card that triggered it so that's the Lincoln game whether or not we played today.
