A colleague of mine has a daughter who works in forecasting the weather at a Government Dept and the outlook for the weekend is for considerable snow over the North West including the Fylde which normally escapes the snow.

She forecast that Brum would have big snow falls last night over 4 days ago and was right.

Therefore the chances of the game going ahead are slim taking into account what is forecast.

I am confident the game will be on. The snow is melting in the area now and we have double sheets on the pitch to protect it from frost. Not had a game postponed for 12 months!!!

Of course I have jinxed it now and we will get a blizzard tonight.

Overnight freezing is the only threat, I reckon. Most forecasts say cold but clear for Rochdale.

Pitch may be okay, but if snow does fall then travelling and terraces will be affected and this may cause the game to be postponed

Unfortunatley heavy frost and football at Rochdale usualy means no game,if the recent past is anything to go by,no matter how much work is put into clearing the ground.The area in front of the stand gets no sun at all,still always live in hope

On the phone to some lads in Stockport. Blue skies, lots of sunshine and no snow. Rochdale is only 16 miles away. Talk about freaky weather!

And quite a few injuries, not that I'm implying anything Like I said earlier, stockport has the same weather as we have and they're closer to rochdale than accy. I wouldn't bet either way of it being on or off. Let's see what tonight and tomorrow morning brings.

Comparing Rochdale's and Stockport's weather is like chalk and cheese. Due to the height of the ground and the pennines Dale is always badly affected by frost and snow.

Bury's ground is just 4 miles away and yet they have said that they have no snow at all and their pitch is soft. Yet Spotland is full of it. I am still confident it will be on unless the temperature falls below -4C tonight.
