Wayne Curtis's testimonial update - your thoughts please

Wayne Curtis's testimonial update - your thoughts please

Postby quinny » Wed Feb 04, 2009 10:14 pm

Hi all
I am looking to put on a question and answer footy forum at the club for Wayne's testimonial on a Monday night in late March.
Sammy and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly said they would come and I'm looking to get a referee and perhaps one more panelist as well.
If I said £10 including a hot pot supper do you think enough would come to make it worthwhile?

PS I am also hoping to get a Legends XI to play the Wembley side on Sunday, May 4, at Christie as well as part of his testimonial but it is just a hope at the moment.

i think you would get loads of interest quinny - wayne deserves everything he gets from is testimonial after ten years at the club.....would be interesting to ask fans what there favourite wayne moment as been over that time personally for me it as to be is two goals in the play off semi final and also the goal at york few years ago with a different part of is body than you normally score with.....well done wayne for your ten years service

Great idea, for the game itself, would that mean we'd see Thommo back in a Morecambe shirt one more time! :)

iF it's at the club I'd pay double that for wayne. if the bar would donate the proceeds ( after costs) to the cause we may even stay for a while after.

love the legends vs wembley team idea. great one quinny.

Definately up for all that Derek.

Good luck with anything you can arrange. I've probably got a whole host of photo's somewhere at home from Wayne's very early days at the club if you are after any for a brochure / programme or anything. Give us a shout and I'll root them out if needs be.

Great idea. Wayne fully deserves a good testimonial - a great servant of the club through the years. I'm certain that events would get good support from Shrimps fans - especially the Wembley vs Legends match idea.

He'd want Wayne's money as a signing on fee

So how did that work out then?
