AWAY SUPPORTERS!!

AWAY SUPPORTERS!!

Postby PUNKISDEAD » Tue Jan 27, 2009 11:49 pm

I rarely get to see the shrimps away, and was going tonight until other commitments curtailed my night out, did we have good away support?

one nil is not the end of the world, so were the team as bad as people are saying?

Well done MS!

Game commentary sounded like weather played a big part in proceedings.

We took quite a good following. I don't know the figure but the end behind the goal was far from empty with quite a few at the side aswell. Just a pity that we always play sh*te in our local derby :x

And i would say a very dissapointed 360 . The best thing about last night was it did not rain , was impressed by how vocal the small group of home supporters behind the goal were.

Aye they were loud considering the poor support, but thats because its a local derby. Its very dissapointing and embarrasing when only 10-15 people sing for the team at a local derby (our fans)

I beleive more people would have got behind the team in the second half had the main core of singers not gone off to the side on their own.

We moved because no-one was singing, so we moved to the side to create an atmosphere by ourselfs under a 'roof', if you can call it that.

To be fair to the young uns - they were (as usual) the only ones trying to get behind the team in the first half. In the second, like they said it was better to try and get behind the team under the roof (and nearer the goal we were attacking).
They did try to sing till the end, hope that happens on Saturday as well.

PS - a few of us maturer voices tried to help them out and keep them in check ;)

Why not try starting the "Dale Cavese", it would get the atmosphere up, and its easy to learn.

I went down the side in the second half and helped along with the singing but there can't of been more than 15-20 of us singing.
Considering we took about 350 the singing from our fans was poor. Ok we played bad but why go if your gonna just stand there like statues?

I think most fans were stunned by appalling football being offered.

Because that's how they choose to support their team. Don't knock anyone that goes to watch football, at least they go but how they show their support is up to them.

Exactly.

Some of us show our passion for our club by being vocal ( ) others who have just as much passion prefer to be silent.....but that doesn't make them any less a supporter.

I've never been a singer/chanter and I never will be. It doesn't appeal to me.
