What does the manager do ?

What does the manager do ?

Postby Abbo » Thu Jan 29, 2009 9:20 am

Will he stick with the same team that played on tuesday night in an effort they may redeem themselves or will he be ruthless and make 1 or 2 changes (im trying very hard to be diplomatic here) ???????????????????

I think he'll make changes for Saturday - the last few times we've been so abject, he's made a few changes for the next match.

I think putting Hunter in for Fraz is a must but with injuries and having let the 2 lads leave restricts his options a bit, Matty is back to match fitness but were could he play him.

He may well do. But the abject Accy display came straight after the very same players gave us one of our best of the season at Chesterfield (as opposed to being the latest of a string of poor shows).

He may think it's up to those same players to prove THEY can respond.

You can't respond to a dressing down and come out fired up again if you're not in the side.

Having said that, if the same team is chosen and plays badly again, then people will say he should have changed it after the bad game at Accy.

Who'd be a manager?
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

I'd play exactly the same side as against Accy (and Chesterfield).

They know what they need to do.

P.S. For the nth time. Keep Michael Twiss up front or take him off altogether. He's wasted on the wings, doesn't like it and doesn't perform. Give him what he's good at or don't bother.

Twissy needs the ball in the channels - like his Confernece goal of the season for Chester against Woking or that cracker against Accy at Christie Park etc.

However, when was the last time we fed a player through the channels, answers on a post card to Sammy ;)

Diarmuid O'Carroll. When was the last time he had a decent run out?

I'd like to see O'Carroll have a run but for Saturday, I would keep with the same team.

Please head out with the intention of battering Port Vale rather than trying to win 1-0!

Get them to put their foot in to tackle and not a token gesture ie drummond and wainwright and get that ball forward, also make sure the defenders close the opposition down more quickly and stop backing off.
