Midland Hotel thread

Postby Posh » Thu Jul 17, 2008 7:04 pm

A thread regarding the Midland Hotel was deleted as the claims in it cannot be substantiated by the moderators. If untrue it would be very libellous. If the author has more details then I suggest he re-posts.

No

if you just let us have proof of your identity and address so we know where to send the writ. Its a bit quicker than identifying you through your ip address.

Please be careful what you write. YOU are liable for it. Mike has been very kind to even mention it to you.

The rest of us have adopted a policy of just to get rid.

I'm glad you find it so funny. If what you posted turned out to be untrue and the rumour proliferated you could easily be looking at libel damages of £20,000 plus. A Sheffield Wednesday fan is currently being taken to court for libel damages related to one of their directors (because of a messageboard post) on grounds much less serious that the one you raised and for more than £20K.

The Serious Fraud Office are investigating the origins, again on messageboards, of malicious information posted about HBOS plc that cause their share price to fall. If they're found to be City traders who shorted the stock then they're looking a jail sentence and civil action by HBOS (Halifax Bank Of Scotland) for damages.

You need to be aware of the implications.
