Spireite here.....

Hi all

Just wondering what Goalkeeper Barry Roche is playing like ahead of his return to Saltergate this weekend?TBH i wasnt sad to see him leave in the summer as he became prone to numerous errors. Good luck for rest off season (except this weekend obviously)

I wish we had 10 more players as good as him. we would be top of this league.

Seriously up there with Joe Lewis in my eyes, (Lewis tipped to possibly an international in the future). But yeh he has been THAT good and influential this season. You look at our poor league position now........it could be alot worse!
Get over it ;)

He's been a very solid keeper. I think he just needed a new club and a fresh start. Arguably, he's no where near as good as Joe Lewis but Joe will go all the way to the top and was too good for us tbh. All things considered, Roche is the standard of player we should have in all areas of the pitch.

When Barry was signed on lots of negative view's where posted, but if anyone has proved a point
it's Barry. From what we read in these posts the crowd had got on his back and his moral was low,He came to us with a clean sheet and with a set of fans that on the whole don't grind axes he has turned out to be a MONSTER Keeper, and like CC Said,Yes like C.C. said well up there for the player of the season.

Yep, top performances in every game I've seen him so far. Good communication with the defence but he could have a bit more influence over them to stop making some silly errors! I'm sure they'll get a test from Lester and Ward on Saturday too.

The thought of Ward running at pace at our team gives me nightmares. I was wish he had left Chesterfied by now as there were lots of rumours about him moving upwards.

According to the football forum Jamie Ward just needs to agree personal terms with Sheff Utd after Chesterfield agreed a £400k fee.

I hope this is true as I really don't want him to play against us on Sat.

Thought you were 'Spireites'? Sorry, my mistake.

Right, who's going to Numb-nuts on Saturday? Can I have a lift?
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

So how did that work out then?
