The numbers have been reducing for a few seasons as fans have drifted away, arguably due to the poor match day experience. Looking at the on-screen match booking pages and also the blank stickers on the seats, it's clear that a sizeable number of season ticket holders didn't renew this summer - that's very worrying!

Only a thought.
Does the Club keep home addresses of season ticket holders?
Send them all a letter [and SAE] with a tick-off list with all the possible reasons for not renewing their season ticket, and room for personal comments.
Routinely, it could be done towards the end of every season, by hand [to save on postage] at a selected game, asking whether they intended returning the following season, and if not why not, and what would they like to see changed?

season ticket sales for the last 3 seasons have been stable give or take a dozen or so either way, the fans that need to be won over are the floaters, who make up their minds weekly wether to attend matches or not, this is the same as most new businesses, i.e, new business neeeds cultivating ,how often do you see a new customer being offered a better deal on sky, a moblie contract, or a new bank account?

Fantastic result in the end and the scoreline makes it look like we battered them, but we didn't. We simply took more advantage of our chances. They had most possession and twice as many shots.
Wasn't sure about our 6,3,1 formation at times but it did bring them forward which suited us when we were on the break. There was a particular attack down the right when we had probably 5 in attack against their 1, shame we couldn't get the ball across, can't remember if that was just after their free kick when our 8 defenders ran forward leaving 7 of their players offside?

Good to see our dugout smiling with 5 minutes to go :D

looks like Jimbo has a plan!
Sit deep and use the pace to counter. Less hoofball, more (entertaining) football. The only issue is give the opposition enough possession and they are likely to score................oh well, we'll just score more than them.Pace in abundance and being used, they won't know what's hit them.

Special mention to Dugdale, who despite having not having had the benefit of a preseason under his belt and like Wildig struggled for playing time at his previous club, put a real shift in yesterday. He made a number of blocks, is comfortable on the ball and looks to be forming a good partnership with Parrish. I also understand that Adam played with an eye injury yesterday that he picked up at Pompey last week. Fair play.

Also like to mention that Brazil will be trying to trace Latino heritage in Andy Paz family tree; his 'skinning' of three county players one after the other brought the loudest cheer of the day. Unfortunate that the resulting pass was overhit but great to see nonetheless. Andy Parrish: it's just like watching Brazil.

i'm sure the Brazilian player was called Clodoaldo .

I can confirm that I was in RLI Eye Clinic yesterday and I saw Adam Dugdale there around 11-30 till 12-30 seeing the specialist. He was desperate to play yesterday and that is just the sort of character that we need in the team. If Beeley is out any length of time then there is your captain.

Dugdale also put in a shift at Pompy last week. Thought at half time yesterday that we were going to struggle in the 2nd half, with only 1 of our first choice back 4. But how wrong I was

also Mcgowan deserves credit, I was not convinced with him last year, thinking he was to lightweight, but he looks like he's filled out, his legs look bulkier compared to last season, and must have Wilson looking over his shoulder, very good competition to get a start at fullback now.

From the County Forum:

Morecambe are a team. They have a fantastic manager. They overcome injuries to key players and gave us a lesson in what's required to compete at L2 level. Being honest Notts look more likely to go down than Morecambe. Sobering thought.....

Watching Andy Parrish come off the pitch at the end, chest puffed out and a big smile on his face knowing he and the team had a good game, except for the first five minutes ;) . Stead and McCloud won hardly anything all day  . McGowan deserved his mom award and Flemming put a good shift in and when Devitt finaly got into the game he showed what a good player he is.Glad when took Chambers off as he caused a lot problems,

Their Manager -
"That's always the worry you have when you play Oxford for example or somebody less interesting"

.....

"No one can deny that County played great football for 65 minutes, were by far the best team and should have been 3-0 up after 15 minutes."

No one can deny we could say the same about us at Hartlepool on the opening day, too, but we move on!

I thought we were fantastic yesterday.

Yes 4-1 flattered us but in terms of the style of football the right team won.

Notts County were predictable - Big lads, direct balls. We sussed them out after an hour or so.

Play like we have so far for the rest of the season we won't be too far away in my opinion
