What's the advantage of paying up his contract? Surely if you are going to pay his wages you might as well have him on the books. Seems a shame for the lad. :(

Could see this coming. Shame he never really produced when he was given the oppotunity!

Would be a decent signing for a BSP club though however.

Good Luck Paul!

Tax savings I think as technically made redundant. Also they may have done a deal to pay less than the full amount plus savings in win bonusses(!) etc

His contract won't be in the wage calc any more bringing us closer to lifting the embargo.

I was thinking more or less the same thing will the amount we have paid him go under wages or other expenditure as if it goes under wages we wont have made any room to bring someone in.

Think he could do well at a conference club maybe Barrow? or wouldn't be suprised of JH trys to get him to FGR.

With any luck, he'll find a BSP club who'll take him.

Not League 2 standard so gives him a chance to find a BSP club.

I think the club will have given him a settlement which will be somewhat less than the amount left to be paid on his contract and then if he finds a new club soon he will be in pocket.

For us it has the advantage of getting us nearer to being within the wage cap limit.

D O'Carrol his contract ends this summer, so if SM doesn't even rate him or he would have him on the bench, then why not look to offload him on loan/swap deal/free transfer as i bet he his one of our high earners

but personally i think given a chance he will come good and still only 21
