Deja vu

Deja vu

I was sorting through some book shelves this afternoon and came upon my copy of "The Official Souvenir Programme of The Final League Match at Christie Park"...............i.e. Morecambe v Aldershot. An excellent production and always good for reminiscing. Ironically of course there was to be one further match to be played after this one.
If any of you have a copy handy, turn to page 76 and have a read. Several contributors were asked to pick their greatest game at C.P. and outline the details. A certain Mr Cooper had chosen the Morecambe v Daggers Conference Play-off semi final 2nd leg of 2003.
Not only was that an inspired choice given what was going to happen in the very near future, but Glen's reason for choosing this game was the pitch invasion at the end at which point he was fearing the worst, only for the Morecambe fans to applaud the Daggers fans and players and bring about a party atmosphere. He goes on to say that the fans behaviour summed up just why he loves Morecambe FC.
And what happened in the actual final game at CP???????????????? Deja vu. But how weird to read that report and realise that it was just days before the fans were to make everybody proud to be a Morecambe supporter all over again. AND WHAT A WAY TO FINISH OFF AT CP (although an aggregate win also would have been good) ;)
