Has to be Danny Adams at left back!

Andy Gouck in midfield.

Dave Edge spent a lot of time on the pitch. :)

how can we have missed Super Jim McCluskey?

1. Glenn Johnstone -played for us after a bad injury at PNE ended his league career (or Tony Woodworth)
2. Danny Adams - looked like a pub footballer but he could play
3.
4. Sir Jim Bentley- no bad comments here because he is the Manager!
5. Billy Wright
6. Andy Gouck - played 42 times for the Shrimps, had the turning circle of a tank!
7.
8.
9.
10.

10. Jim McCluskey- scored as many as Ronaldo but without his body!
11. Rene Howe - Scored a wonder goal against Bradford which was amazing because he did it while dragging his fat arse around

Jimmy Capstick ......... !! He would HAVE to be in there !!

Signed from Barrow, I remember driving him to an away game at Chorley (ATS Lancashire Trophy Semi Final if my memory serves, 1989/90 season) - picked him up at Lancaster Post House as he lived in Barrow.

How times change eh.

Just had Ray Evans suggested to me as an occupant of this Fat Jabbers XI by my exiled Morecambe fan mate out in sunny Malta!!

Well before my time (no, he was, honest) !!

Going back to the arse end again of that 1989/90 season, Dave Jones (later to be Wolves, Cardiff and Sheff Wed boss) played a few games for us.

He had also piled on the pounds since his playing days with Everton etc etc !!

What was the name of the winger we signed in the late 90s from Macclesfield?

Neil Mitchell? He had a decent debut i seem to remember but didn't stick around too long. He was slightly plump!

Graham Jones and a mate of mine has suggested Stimmo!

As I scrolled down this thread I thought of Ray Evans...so to see his name mentioned means my memory isn't playing tricks on me !

A cultured midfielder (or inside forward as they were then) in our Lancs Combination days.

Not many will remember his "illustrious" stay with us, but another guaranteed name on the teamsheet will be one Gary Buckley....

Brought in by Eric Whalley as his Player / Assistant Manager in the Summer of '88, he didn't last long here.

He'd played in the Football League though prior to dropping down to our (then) NPL level:

Gary Buckley was in the management team at one point and as such he had a sponsored motor car.

After he was dismissed a board member had to risk life and limb by going to a very rough estate to re-possess the car !
