players need a chance

players need a chance

Postby kingshrimp » Fri Jan 02, 2009 8:55 pm

Players such as michael carr and michael twiss, now back from injury, should be given a better chance. Sammy mac hasn't played michael carr atall this season, i thought michael carr played great in the pre-season matches he has speed, great control and provides for the strikers.
Sammy should play players like that but he dosen't why? :?

we need to get rid of some players so we have a squad in which every player has great potential

Carr played the first 4 matches of the season, but either picked up an injury or 'failed to immediately rise to MFC's standards' and went out on loan back to Northwich Victoria to get back into the rhythm of playing competitive first-team football.

Twiss showed promise when he had his 'comeback' earlier in the season but unfortunately picked up an injury 15 minutes into the match against Chester in the JPT.

Sammy has given both sub appearances to get them back into the squad, so to speak, but until one of our current starting midfielders/strikers give themselves a reason to be dropped, the lineup is set to stay the same for the time being IMO.

Exactly I would rather have a squad of 22 an use the money saved on the other 4 players to make the 22 a better quality squad.

Michael Carr got injured in his first or second game back at Northwich Victoria. To be fair, he didn't hit the ground running when he arrived with us. I still think he will be a great player for us, but for now, he needs to knuckle down until he gets another chance. Right now, I wouldn't drop anyone for him to start.

So how did that work out then?

I'm sorry didn't Sammy say he was one for the future? (Carr)
So this children's talk of getting rid is ridiculous

Andy Parrish is a good utility player who can play in numerous positions, I for one am a fan of his.

i see him as a long term successor to Jim Bentley, who must have no more than 2yrs left at this level

Parrish his very comfortable on the ball, and has a lot of pace, and could form a good partnership with McStay for many yrs to come

as long as he doesn't play at full back as he always seems to be out of position when he is playing full back.

He has pace but not strength - which is why I think he's better suited at playing full back (or wing back in the 5-3-2 formation).
