Early conference days videos/DVDs

Early conference days videos/DVDs

Postby Wild Bill » Thu Apr 23, 2015 10:01 pm

Was wondering if anyone has any old videos/DVDs from the promotion season and early conference days for research for my book?

I promise to give them back at the start of the season and will give credits if the thing ever gets published. Thanks!

On the excellent History of Christie Park DVD there are many, many clips and highlights Bill from the promotion winning season of 1994/95 and also the first Conference season of 1995/96.

I was watching it again only last weekend and reliving the highlights !! :D

Great memories. THAT header of Cainy's to put us 2-0 at home to Telford........

That conference season we won 17 and lost 17!
They played with a lot of passion and the whole team would run through a brick wall for each other!
We don't have that passion now but we probably have more talent
looking at the league tables would suggest 2 very similar.

got trains on the brain Mate

I've a VHS somewhere of a game against Stalybridge, I think it was. John Norman scored a great goal by beating the whole defence on his own. I think Coleman finished the game as our goalkeeper. You can have it if it's any use.

Also on this Christie Park dvd is John Norman's hat-trick in the 7-0 win v Altrincham.

The third of which was just outstanding ! :D

We serialized the John Norman goal in Corpus Christie, a few linked articles, describing him beating a couple of men then on to the next article. Great great goal. That was in the Conf Cup or GMAC or something I think.
The hat trick against Alty, Stormin's lob over the keeper and three defenders all on the line was sublime also!
Happy days.
