The only local company with the money to sponsor the stadium for 10 years (PMG seemed to suggest that was the ideal time frame) would be EDF Energy but that is wishful thinking I would suggest.

EDF Energy does make the most sense, followed by Centrica. Although I would think out of the 2 EDF would want the most publicity to attract new customers.

Also confirmed that Amond is the number one penalty taker ahead of Wilson

Jim also said that we would only have one goalkeeper on a first team contract.

That sounds like the young lad who came on when the red card was issued against Shrewsbury could become the bench-warmer.

He said Barry is nearly fit and could play some reserve games in the near future.

Barry has been out a long time. I suspect Jim will want to be absolutely sure but doesn't Barry have a year left of his contract? Long lay offs can affect sportsmen so it's fingers crossed that he can carry on as our number 1.

Just hope that IF we are to have only one goalkeeper on a first team contract that Baz proves his fitness and has no repercussions from his injury. Tough on Andreas.....who I hope is already aware of the intention for next season.

Being a L2 club I would expect any sponsor for the ground to have a national footprint.

A close partnership with the Bay Radio could have its benefits but I doubt it would happen as they would have to still give fair coverage and impartiality to other clubs in the area.

Talking of always wanting what you can't have, wouldn't it be great if our home ground became:-

The J B Christie EDF Arena, or
The J B Christie Centrica Arena.

You get the general idea!!! How much goodwill would that generate with the locals - but would it actually make financial sense to the sponsors??

Don't care what they call it as long as we get good money for it and we don't change our club name!! If it becomes the Dong stadium can we please sign somebody called Ding? The Chinese connection might be good! The headliine writers could have a field day when he scores :D

It's unlikely to be EDF Energy.

We aren't high profile enough.
