Heard about this on the radio this morning.

Wonder how many times the legend that is Mr Noel Gallagher has had a letter through the post of similar ilk?

For example, listen to the opening to Cigarettes and Alcohol and compare it to Get It On by T Rex.

Also, She's Electric quotes lines (openly admitted by Noel) from the lyrics to kids 70's tv show, Rainbow !!

The opening piano bit to Don't Look Back In Anger was taken from Imagine by John Lennon.

Many more tracks too he has "borrowed" bits !!

Pharrell Williams should have just acknowledged Marvin Gaye's 1978 classic dance track in the first place - it would have saved him $ 7,400,000.

What didnt help is that he told GQ magazine that he would like to write a classic like, say for example
" Got To Give It Up " and then 30 minutes later he had done ! Then he completely muddied the waters by saying it wasnt copied from the Motown legend's material at all and wasn't aware of the track - really ? .

PS - All dance DJs have known the similarities for the last 18 months and have been mixing the two tracks ever since to link from the 70s to the 10s or the other way round.

The very first time I ever heard Blurred Lines I immediately played Marvin Gayes track to see how I could mix them together. It was the easiest mix to do for years.

Its not the vocals that are copied, but the bass rhythm track and cow-bell percussion lines
The only difference is that Marvin Gaye is a timeless legend and Robin Thicke isnt.
