Good attendance, sounds good when new players get amongst goals.

Can't wait for Saturday to put names to faces.

Yes and one minute before the end of the game the commentator is told our keeper changed at half time!

Scott in goal. He's also got a spider in the commentators box with him!

Sounds like a decent performance from our lads and great to hear that the newcomers are getting stuck in right from the off :D

this was a really good performance and reassuring for the upcoming season, all the new players looked good,i was particularly impressed with wainwright who gave their full back a torrid time,he looks very tricky.
carr settled in well and if baker does go will take his place without any problems, scored a superb opener
o carroll looked very good, when ball knocked up to him he held it up well and brought other players into the game, this should be much better than last season
roche had nothing to do but looked competent with good kicking
stanners was man of match for me,completely controlled the game
frazer also was excellent, did not look as though he had ever been away
mcstay and bents looked rock steady in the middle of the back
new right back looked very capable as did his replacement i think yatesy will struggle to keep a place
twissy looked very fit and lost weight played well before coming off
adams was his usual immaculate self after a difficult 1st half
barrow looked useful after 75 minutes when the 2 former shrimpers came on
maybe early days but all in all i think the squad looks stronger in many areas than last season and we should have confidence in maccers and what he is trying to achieve here

For me Fraser was the man of the match. He mopped up everything in midfield and I think his role allowed Stanners to get forward more. Wainwright was the best of the newcomers, though all of them played well. Without having much to do, Roche looked confident and I was particularly impressed by the way he talks to the defence.

The first half seemed to be a case of just passing the ball around so the players could familiarise, the second was far more open and entertaining.

It was an encouraging performance.

We all know we can't get carried away with 'results' against opposition which 'should' be weaker than those we'll face next season.
BUT
I agree that this was very encouraging. Wainwright always wanted the ball and wasn't afraid to take people on which he did to good effect. He fluffed a couple of crosses but scored a good goal and generally displayed a brilliant attitude. If he lost the ball, so what, he got straight back into it and went and won it back again (or at least made sure his opponent didn't do much with it).

Carr looked very confident and assured as well as skilful and his goal was excellently taken. A lot more to come from him but already seen enough to suggest he's going to be a big influence.

O'Carroll? Mmm, not sure.
He may turn out to be one of those who looks as if he 'should' be able to get a bagful of goals but he may flatter to deceive.
I honestly don't think so, though. He's very confident (with the kind of of cockiness that's a good sign in a striker) and showed a couple of flashes of quick feet that made us all go 'hey, I like that!'
Get the ball to him in the box and you can imagine him having defenders bamboozled, scared to tackle him in case they give away a penalty, which creates time and room for a shot (or we get a load of pens!).
He may just form a very good partnership with either Twissy or Blinks - really looking forward to seeing him again.

Roche was a very formidable presence and it's the first time I've ever seen a keeper have to 'stoop' to collect a high cross from the wing! Never tested, though, so need to see him against a better team.

Need to see more of McCann and Parrish before making a judgment.

Agree with what everyone says about the other lads who were with us last season as well - some very strong displays. They looked fit and raring to go.

Throw Carl Baker, Drummy, Yatesy and Blinks somewhere into that whole squad mix and I don't think we'll struggle.

Early days and there's a lot of reasons for caution about predicting anything from this one glance but Sammy and the board may just have done a few months' really good work.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

Echoing the praise for the new lads last night, thought Twiss was having a good game too before he was brought off. Looks to have got a bit of his back, thought he linked with O'Carrol very well

From our view in the stands O'Carroll did a lot to show that we may have unearthed another gem. One instance in the first half stood out for us. He got the ball to feet in the box and turned in a flash wrong footing 3 defenders and put in a shot which although lacking enough power to beat the keeper showed a skill level that we can use to our advantage.

Working off a target man and who knows!

Still feel as though we need a power house of a striker...if only to add some muscle and a physical presence.

Luke B from 'uddersfield would do!

This bloke could end up (if he's not knackered) doing a good job for someone at our level.
