Darlington Saturday

Darlington Saturday

Postby North Stand Shrimp » Fri Dec 12, 2008 2:18 pm

Darlington started the season strongly and are currently 4th in the league with a decent away record of 4 wins 3 draws and 2 losses. According to the Beeb they have a near fully fit sqad of players for their manager, Dave Penney to choose from.

I think this will be a very hard game for us to take any points from, a draw probably being the best we can hope for.

Some glimmer of hope though is that they lost to 19th place Chester in their last home game and have also slipped up against Bournmouth and were dumped out of the cup by Droylsden, so they are far from being consistant. A postponement last weekend will see them rested but they may be lacking a bit of match sharpness.

getting closer to Christmas we might struggle to get a decent attendance, especially if the weather is as awfull as the forecast suggests.

Ill go for 1-1, with attendence at 1500. but hoping for any sort of a win with over 2000.

Line ups, Score predictions and Attendence anyone?

I would expect Darlington to bring 400ish even taking into account what you say and we should surely manage the 1500 "regulars". They are a bit pessimistic about the weather but all looks well for after 11 a.m. :D

Our lads will be really up for this and we will surprise them 2 - 1

errr - something like this ~

These lot are chomping at the bit to play

Seems forever and a day since we last played

Q. Morecambe towards the foot of the table and in no trouble AS YET!
A. It's a tough trip to Christie Park - I think its called :?:

Beat them 3.0 but it wasnt really a 3.0 we scored from 3 of their corners!

Q. It (C.P.) couldnt be much more different from the Arena
A. It is one of the better ones , actually :o

Wainy will be looking forward to the game - if selected as he is on the bench at the moment

2-0 Darlington win, comfortable but we'll miss a few decent chances. Think they'l expose our paceless side as they did last season. Lets hope we dont get any corners!

Not too bothered about the result, as long as we show a bit of gumption and willing tomorrow afternoon. I haven't seen us play a league game since Aldershot and, despite reports we look disinterested last week against Notts County, there is no reason I can't go away at 5 o clock having enjoyed the past 2 hours and feeling proud of Morecambe FC.

I think predicting the Quakers to win 4-1 is a tad disrespectful to Barry Roche who, if he has his usual reliable afternoon, will be a big obstacle to Darlington, and also Jimbo might have something to say as well. Still you are entitled to your opinion, I think it might be 1-1 or a narrow 1-0 or 2-1 win for Darlington.

To put that into context he was to be fair thinking of his own fans after last season's game was called off, I think he wanted the ref to give it a bit longer before the Darlo fans were allowed in.

As good as Roche is, if they are too strong attacking wise there may not be alot he can do. Im hoping the amount of rain will make it difficult for them to play good football and give us more chance of getting a result.
