i think we should get him , at least on loan, because hes pure class and has scored goals at every level in the game. he should be given a chance by samm mcilyor , fowler was awesome for liverpool leeds and manchester city and cardiff and blackburn because hes a natural goal scorer. and thats what we need i think, he would also be an exceptional role model for the young lads such as aaeron taylor.
any opinions?

Many an old fart would be proud of those and regardless of your 'premiership affiliations' he deserves some respect - on his day nobody , but nobody... could touch him PFA young player of the year 2 years on the bounce 1996 /7 [I think]. A legend [nay GOD] for Liverpool whatever he does. The man was a scoring machine for a time and you may not of liked his 'cocaine sniffing antics' ..who did ; but a fantastic player.

Right, let me put my anorak on.

T'was 1994/1995 and again in 1995/1996 when he won the PFA Young Player of the Year Awards, actually. In those two seasons he scored a grand total of 67 goals, and in his first four seasons (three and a half, really) as a professional managed a total of 116 goals. After scoring 31 goals in 1996/1997 he was Liverpool's top scorer, once more, in 1997/1998 up until February 1998, when he suffered damaged cruciate ligaments during a challenge with Everton's Thomas Myhre ruling him out for what was expected to a year and, of course, forcing him to miss the 1998 World Cup Finals in France, where one Michael Owen stole the limelight. He never really recoverd from that injury, despite scoring 18 goals the following season.

Still, he should just keithing retire!
