Most Impressive Players

Most Impressive Players

Postby Aal » Sun Dec 07, 2008 7:24 am

I know we're not quite half way through the season yet, but nominations please for these 2 categories

a) MFC player of the season so far

b) Most impressive opposition player against us so far

I'll nominate.....

a) Rene Howe

b) Jamie Ward (Chesterfield)

There's only one choice for me up till now and it's Barry Roche.

Barry Hayles for the Robins last week did a fair bit of damage over the two Cup matches. :(

1. Roche for me too.
2. I don't care about the other team!

I would also go for Roche, but a player not getting a mention is Mclachlan. I think we have improved quite a lot since he has been brought into the midfield.

That says it all really when our most prolific player is our goalkeeper. You would be hoping that the first player to mention would be a striker. :o :o :o . Oh well not long untill the January sales.

I nearly nominated Roche but that does say a lot about our defence that he's been so busy.

Great shot stopper!!

Still think that Howe has been our best by some distance

Roche - despite being unsure to begin with he has won me over and I feel safe with him now.

Couldn't even tell you who has played for the oppo.

I think anybody thinks Barry is as good as Joe is being a bit over kind, all credit due to Barry he is doing an excellent job , but in my opinion . Joe Lewis stopped the unstoppable, week in week out for us, was very brave and bears the scars to prove it, and could be the main reason we are still in league 2 this season !!

Barry Roche has done very well but not in the same class as joe.Do you think barry would get close to the England squad? dont think so,but having said that, the best keeper to play for Morecambe apart from Joe.

Barry for me as well.

As for the opposition, Notts County's left winger yesterday was the best player I've seen so far, can't remember his name.

it's fair to say when Joe's loan deal expired, thats when Morecambe's form in the league just nose-dived

imo Lewis was a bit better then Roche plus is only 21/22 years old.

But Roche is still a great keeper.

You say that but I've seen roche pull off some truly amazing saves (every week infact). Yes it's a bald call but still i think he's THAT good, his cross claiming is excellent as well as his kicking with both feet too. All very important areas needed to be covered. In my opinion he is excellent in all aspects of being a keeper.

barry roche and rene howe have been the best two players for us this season - also henry mcstay as been quite solid (as for roche been near the england side he is irish so would not really qualify)....best opposition players i have seen this year have to be ward at chesterfield and also adomah at barnet
