Slight Complaint about the new board

Slight Complaint about the new board

Postby Number 1 » Sun Jul 13, 2008 6:34 pm

At the risk of being petty, I would like to express a small complaint.

In the old board, if a link was posted to something else, you clicked on the link and it opened another window, but on this board, it opens in the same window, so you lose shrimpsvoices unless you click the back arrow.

Now I have to remember to right click the link and open new tab or new window, but I usually forget to do that.

Sorry if it sounds petty.

While Keith fixes it, or he hasn't changed the admin password so I'll take a look, if you're a Windows user and your mouse has a wheel, press the wheel when you're on a link. 28 years working with computers and I found out that little gem just a few months ago.

Update : no need to check the config, it can only be done by editing code which I've suggested Keith doesn't do. Not that he can't but it means the board can't be upgraded automatically and that was one of the problems with the old forum, out of date therefore un-secure.

Brilliant about the wheel. Just have to remember not to use it all the time now or I'll have millions of tabs open!

Cheers

If you use a Mac, hold down 'ctrl' while clicking on the link and select 'open link in new tab' or 'new window'.
