Massive week ahead

Massive week ahead

Postby Christies Child » Sun Jul 13, 2008 12:23 pm

With gossip and rumour about all kinds of comings and goings, this coming week could be crutial in determing how far we progress this season.

I suppose the worst case scenario would be the loss of both Mark and Carl and that Accy refuse whatever further bid(s) we put in for Craney.

Fortunately Tuesday night at Barrow will see the return of action on the field as opposed to off it!

With Sammy and the Board doing all they can to bring further players in it will be interesting to look back on this coming week, this time next week.

According to Stockport fans Carl has posted in his Facebook that he wants away.

Anybody actually read it or as I suspect are they trying to unsettle the lad?

Hold on for another 6 months Carl and you'll be looking at a move into the Championship.

And I don't suppose for a minute that our board are daft enough to let that happen. If we can get Craney we 'may' talk again to Stockport but I reckon we'd only do a deal if the net of all the coming and going was a decent cash profit for us - and that's taking into account what we paid for Carl and what Southport are due.
If the sums amount, deducting those figures, to a straight swap, Carl for Craney, we won't do it. And if we can't get Craney, then we won't let Carl go just yet IMO.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

So I was a few days under in my forecast but..'that's been one hell of week plus 2'.....and has gone a long way to focuss the club on what could happen this season.
