following our trip to Bounmouth on tuesday night (thankyou fixture computer!) got me thinking what is the longest trip you have made to watch the shrimps ( I have only been following the shrimps for 4 years so as of yet I havnt made any realy made too many of the longer trips)

When i used to follow Blackpool in the late seventies, early eighties, i went to Milwall on the Tues night, Plymouth on the Saturday and Kilmarnock the following Tues for an Anglo - Scottish cup game. Oh they were great days.
Furthest ive been watching Morecambe is Deepdale, but i haven't missed a home league game for 4 seasons.

I have, with many others done Margate Thursday night and Dover Saturday!! We stayed over mind, happy days!!

Flew back from New York in 2004 to catch our last game of the season against Shrewsbury on the off-chance we would make the play-offs. Does that count?

As a teenager I went to Emley for an FA cup replay which went to extra time and penalties. Remember walking down Lancaster road looking out for my mum to pick me up at 2.15 in the morning and worrying about school the next day!

Myself, Downsy, Matty, Brian C and our driver drove 1,185 miles from Morecambe to Halifax via every other Conference Club within 48 hours a couple of years ago.

Four hours each way for a home game is pretty long time wise. Not much of it spent "on the road" though

Been to Margate a couple of times, including a Bank Holiday Monday when we set off at about 6am. Dover a couple of times too. And Exeter a couple of times, again including a Bank Holiday. Flew to a game via London City, then stayed at Southend.

Also (as I've just been reminded ) a "romantic week in London" to get to Woking one Saturday and Hayes the next.

I also wonder if anyone else has watched Wycombe v Morecambe on all three occasions that we've played there?

mine must have been 2 moscow for the champs league final last year!! there are also a few european aways that we do in a day which are a fair journey! but portsmouth is a fair journey on a monday night and exeter isnt a short trip down the road either!

These long trips must be so tiring. Hats off to everyone who goes on these long hauls on a regular basis.

I saw the Exeter mini bus driver leaving the car park last Saturday and he looked none too enthusiastic about the journey home.

My furthest apart from Wembley was Boston in the Unibond the season we went up.

But the worst trip was for a FA Trophy replay at Staines Town about 30 years ago. Took all afternoon to get down there, saw a forgettable 0-0 draw and was back home for 3am ready for about 4 hours sleep before work. We won the second replay at Stafford, so I travelled down for the next round where we lost 2-0 at Slough (seem to remember our Captain handing theirs a huge stick of Morecambe rock before the kick off!).

My longest away trips would be:

Morecambe -> Dover - 335 miles

Blackheath -> Scarborough - 247 miles (through a blizzard all the way up the M1)

St Albans -> Evesham (Engine blew up on Thursday before game and paid £540 to get it fixed quickly so I could get to the game - didn't think about renting)

New York -> Stevenage - flew back on early flight to get back in time for game fell asleep on train

also flew from stansted to stockholm and then drove a hire car all the way to the artic circle, for a freindly.
then moved on to oulu finland for another game, before driving back to stockholm.
