o/t To recruit more Radio 4 listeners

The News Quiz this week was exceptionally good, I was laughing along as I drove to Chester and have just had another good laugh using the 'listen again'. Some excellent lines. I especially like the comment about comparing Sarah Palin to a 'post turtle', as stated by a seventy year old Texas rancher during the election...

What's a post turtle?
Well, you know when you are driving along a country lane and you see a turtle on top of a fence post? That's a post turtle.

You know she didn't get there on her own...
She doesn't belong up there...
Now she's there she's got no idea what to do...

...and you wonder about the dumb ass that put her there in the first place!

“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

If I might suggest a similar show from the colonies. "Wait, Wait... Don't Tell Me" is on NPR over here (close cousin of Radio 4) - podcasts available

http://www.npr.org/programs/waitwait/

Some Yanks even understand sarcasm :o

I liked the cutting from the Lancashire Herald "Our apologies to Mr Clarence Sale for our spelling mistake on a recent advert, we thought he said Clearance Sale and he has been inundated with calls for the last three weeks"!!!
Frisnit Frisnit!!
