Pre-season training update No4

Pre-season training update No4

Postby Christies Child » Fri Jul 11, 2008 3:40 pm

Not a great deal to report really.

Thursday saw the entire squad and trialists at Salt Ayre Sports complex being put through their paces by Mark, Sammy and his backroom team. Unlike previous days when double sessions had been on the menu, Thursday's was one, long and very testing session.

Today, Friday has seen the lads doing double sessions at the University of Lancaster.

When I finally caught up with them this afternoon, Sammy had split the squad into 2 groups and they were having a full scale practise match. It's early days but I got the impression that everybody was being encouraged to pass and move with the ball being played to feet and not in the air!

All of the new lads looked extremely comfortable on the ball, with Mr Roach showing a clean pair of hands.

Training finished around 3pm.

I understand that Jamie Burns may have gone to Fleetwood.

You were probably in there at the same time as my wife. She was in Spar up there on her lunch break when Stanners was in there.

Is it the one in the square?
Yes, I seem to remember it does have double doors to allow easy access and egress for the "Wider eared" community!

No problem!

The only people to stop them will be Sammy and Directors of the club.......and SVs Management!

Are you spying today Neil or having a day off?*

No.5 would be nice.

The lads are in for training today.

* Day off = taking the missus shopping. ;)

Wife's birthday so under orders to have a day off!

How's about somebody else having a peep and reporting for a change?

PS...Back to normal Monday.

Too right....

Life's too short to give a 'fig' what others might think or say....providing I'm not betraying a trust I can't see the harm in keeping others up to speed with developments..especially 'the exiles'.
