webcam

help,just bought web cam labtec 5500 with inbuilt microphone and am struggling to get it operational.instructions just refer to webcam
installed driver and webcam companion so obviously need to do something else,
can anyone help

i've had to install a number of webcams as part of my job (don't ask!) and they all suggest inserting the disc before connecting the webcam, and then plugging in the webcam when prompted, rather than plugging in webcam and waiting for windows to mess things up.
