Offside?

Offside?

Postby Christies Child » Sun Oct 26, 2008 10:51 am

Having recorded the final goal v Vale and freeze framed it on play back, I have to say that it was a very tough call either way.

Some would have given off side, others as has been proved would have allowed play to continue.

When your down at the bottom, luck seems to go against you all too often.

Time to move on. Re-focuss and win the local bragging rights this Tuesday.

The camera angle is from behind play so deceptive neil
ive seen it this morning and rodgers makes what looks like a diagonal run but he was way off when balled released
i was right in line and im telling you he was way offside and the linesman wasnt up with play thats why he couldnt flag him offside i think
daylight robbery.............
hopefully we will get the rub of the green Tuesday night

The camera doesn't cover enough of the play to say one way or the other

Word from our dugout is "offside". Good enough for me.

Does it matter? These decisions go the other way too.
Time to move on as far as I'm concerned.

Most people now no it was offside i no it was a really bad decision but we can not do anything about it so lets just concentrate on the next game that is accrington that we have not beat in ages and plus a rivalry .

What a great game! Certainly went a little way towards making up for yesterday's agony!

It didn't really matter from the moment we kicked off after the goal, at that point there was nothing could be done about it but it didn't stop someone starting a discussion about it. That's the point of football though, lots to discuss long after the event ... so ....

When it went in It never crossed my mind that it could have been offside, Then I saw it on the championship and thought it was on, However, reading this site again i decided to go and have a look again, and It was a lucky decision, Rodgers and your Right back were level at ground level, But Rodgers was leaning towards goal whereas your RB was leaning towards the half way line.

Luck of the draw, and Benefit goes with the striker in those situations so I understand why the linesman played it on.

Could well be you next week that score a similar goal, however I do think it is a bit of an over reaction by some of you.

And the dugout wasn't in line so is talking bollocks.

I've stopped the action on the telly and if you look at the "mow" line on the pitch I think it is impossible to tell. You couldn't blame a linesman for giving it on or off and for anyone in the dugout to say it was definitely off shows that they are probably cross-eyed which is, perhaps, the cause of some of your problems.

What problems might they be? The only problem I seem to have is a bunch of toddlers who sulk when their photo doesn't appear online.

Anyone using that camera angle to make a judgement, when you can't see the whole pitch or much of the build up, is a moron as far as I'm concerned.
