Absolutely brilliant signings. Ellison has always been a character and enjoys the banter with the crowd which is what Jimbo wants in the dressing room (as well as being a good player). Haining is just class.

Excellent. Hopefully Will will regain some of the form from when he first arrived, and can avoid injury. Kevin Ellison will be a threat from set pieces which we have really missed this year.

Two good experienced signings there, now it just needs to be mixed well with youth and pace which i am sure jim will get well balanced.

Away strip looks rather nice aswell.

I assume Ellison is the big character in the dressing room that he wanted. A player I very much dislike in opposition but I imagine might like for his commitment when playing for us. Can't get excited about signing a 32 year old that wasn't wanted by another League 2 side, mind. Glad we've only got him on a 1 year deal.

As for Haining, that is a much, much more exciting 'signing'. Gives me great hope that a player that was very much frozen out for large parts by Sammy has committed to a 2 year deal. Pretty good start, Jim. Keep it up :D

Ps, loving the new away kit. So much better than that abortion of a home kit!

I'm not sure why he has so many but if he didn't, he'd still be in league one captaining Oldham I'm sure. That's the gamble we take with Haining but I for one would take it.

both good signings Ellison as loads of experience and being left footed should give us plenty of width and supply quality crosses

Great signings, the pair of them.

As has been said, Ellison is well up for the banter ! Remember him warming up for Bratfud City last season (whilst on loan there) and the MBW chanting "Chester Reject !!" at him !!

He took it in good spirits and laughed !! :D

Nice kits too, liking them both.

Ellison is perfect and just whats needed, Always liked the fact he's a roll your sleeves up type of player, works hard and does chip in with the odd screamer.
Can put it about aswell :) Great news!!!

Goes without saying that Haining is class, The new season is starting to build already

Great signings I think Will could have a big season next season I can see Jimbo bringing the best out of him. Could he even be captain?

Ellison is just what we need although I remember him trying to snap one of our players legs at Chester a few years ago. A one year deal is a sensible option as well.
Think we need Wilson behind him though at LB to add some pace and them two running the left side would be fantastic.

Really looking forwards to seeing Ellison; should be good for banter with the crowd. Top signing!

Haining, just sheer class. Lets hope we can keep him fit all season, would make our back four a lot more solid.

Going back a few years, we signed Darren Lyons who was coming to the end of his playing days and he was fantastic for us! I think Kevin Ellison will be that sort of player for us. Lyons wasnt a flashy winger but made sure he got his crosses in and was a constant danger. Ellison will do the same. He will get the ball out of his feet, get the ball in the middle and give the forwards something to attack!. He doesnt seem to carry any weight, is a decent height which is a bonus and at 32 isnt that old really when we are seeing players playing well into their 30's nowadays!

Two good signings to get the ball rolling!

Would have liked to be a fly on the wall at the interview.
Jim would look him in the eye saying "is your heart in the Morecambe shirt, like?"
Kevin replying in true Clint style "do you feel lucky ......?"

True grit and determination at its best :D

Good to see Will back in the fold , hope he can return to the form of season before last when he was our best player. Bit of a dilema for Jimbo now as to who are going to be the central defenders. :?: . Not so sure about Ellison though as he is another player who wasn't wanted by his last club and we had our fair share of those last season , none of them proved to be any good , but at least its only a one year deal so some lessons have been learned . ;)

So chuffed that Will has decided to stay.

Have to be honest not so sure about Ellison. When Jimbo said that he'd spoken to a left sided player his name came immeadiately to mind. Certainly hope he delivers, in more ways than one!

Now all we need is a speed merchant up front with a goal poachers instinct and a creative midfielder (Stanners are you listening) and we should be looking towards a better saeason than last.

I hope than Scotty can get back to full fitness as I see him just in front of the back four.

I think Jim is just the man to get the best out of Kevin Ellison. He is the sort of player that you dread coming on when he's playing against Morecambe so he could turn out to be a really top signing.

The Rotherham fans seem to think highly of him so maybe Andy Scott made a mistake releasing him :-

Top signings by Jim. It's nice to see that Will wants to stay and Kevin Ellison is a very good League Two player who brings experience and banter. that's what Jim wanted, and that's what he's got. It's a start to building a good team for next season.

Love it! (And the new away shirt, too!)
