Why can't people just enjoy being in the league?

Why can't people just enjoy being in the league?

Where's the craic gone on Shrimpsvoices?

Yes we're playing ordinary footie.

Yes we've only won one in twenty.

Yes a clean sheet is equally as rare.

Also there are times, like on saturday after we got our noses in front and then self destructed, that you can't help but feel frustrated.

But look at the fixture list. Some famous old clubs there. Why can't people just accept that being in the league is still very much a unique experience for us all.

Enjoy it and lets see where we end up. It's October 7th as i write this and still a long way to bloody go! 'Doomongering'...what's the point in October? Even if say the worst case scenario ever happened and one day we got relegated...then so what. At least we can say we had a go and experienced the whole shebang. I love travelling to all these league grounds - even Gillingham (which is in France i believe).

Stop moaning guys and gals and enjoy life in the football league.

Youre right of course Bryan I thought gillingham was in Pimlico which was part of the Duke of Burgundy's land
from wakipedia
Gillingham is set in the inner London district of Pimlico, a few narrow streets hemmed in by railway lines and busy main roads, where a delayed bomb explosion reveals a hidden vault containing treasure and an ancient document proving that the land was granted to the Duke of Burgundy in perpetuity

There.....Gillingham is in France...tout alors

I honestly think most people are enjoying it Bryan - there's a vocal minority who predict 'doom & gloom' , but I think some of that is tongue in cheek. I was thinking things through before and remembering last seasons trip to Chester won with the last kick of the game [penalty] ; Hereford [won 3-0] and battered them ; Wolves , PNE hellfire you could go on and on.
Maybe some 'newbies' got carried away and thought we'd start steaming up the leagues ???? I don't know I just enjoy it for what it is - I'd hate to see us relegated though, so each game Gillingham , Bournemouth, Brentford , Luton Town is a bonus - we'll get a decent run going soon 'draws' every week are'nt much good, but say we get two league wins on the bounce things suddenly look a lot brighter - I just look forward to the next match home or away.

This was a good post until that bit. Just think of the finances for a start. Then there's a new stadium to think about. Sorry, but that part of your post was utter tosh. It won't happen, anyway. I'm predicting 13th to 17th for this season :P

I can't disagree with the sentiments of this post BUT at what time do we stop proclaiming to be 'just pleased to be a league club'.????????????

Reality will come calling sooner than we think.

Anybody taking coach bookings?

I'll be an OAP 'officially' by then so I'm expecting a discount!
