Good idea! Maybe next year. This year it's 'dancing in the streets of Raith' for those who can make it.
Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

That's a sleeper train to London Euston, it will cost you a fortune to get that. You might as well get a cheap hotel in Edinburgh (eg travelodge £30 and come back the next morning) if you wanted to get the train.

This will be interesting, as there is a stag weekend at Chester races beginning Friday 8th. Will have to consult my diary

Maybe if we are nice to the driver on the way back on Sunday we can persuade him to forget to drop us off in Morecambe/Lancaster on the way back 8-)

Of course if you have a caravan/motorhome you can stay not too far away for £6.50p per night

If driving to Kirkcaldy, the Dean Park Hotel is handy as it’s just off the A92 and about 3 miles from the Starks Park ground. I stayed here last year and it’s very nice and friendly.

If on the train, the Beveridge Park Hotel is very near the station and less than a ten minute walk to the ground.

Steady on! The Dean Park is £91 a night and the Beveridge £85. You can get a single for £60 but my £6.50 is looking good. ;)

A block booking would reduce those prices considerably; after all, we are talking about Fife here. An even bigger discount if in the Proclaimers fan club, I expect. :D

A bit of "potted history". Raith hold the British Record for the most goals scored in a season.

Any ideas as to how many?

Yes, I Googled it as well!

Not a bad return with a 5 man forward line, top scorer netting 47! :o The midfielders and defence obviously didn't get to cross the half way line - not that they needed to! Wonder how many they conceded?

"1937/38 – Become British League Record Goalscorers with 142 goals in just 34 league matches while winning the 2nd Division championship, a record which still stands today. The forward line of Glen (5 goals), Gilmour (35), Haywood (47), Whitelaw (26) and Joyner (21) scored 134 of the record 142 goals. "

It's well worth going by train even if just to go over the Forth Bridge twice. :D

It will all depend on how much Mary has to pay to bail you out of your Chester prison cell. :o

Thank goodness I'm not the stag over the weekend, can't see you making it up over the border!

Which cell is it, then I can book in advance?
