This McKenna guy looks like he's got a good amount of experience. Also, he might be able to give some shooting lessons to our forwards since he once scored 89 goals in 98 games!

I think its an impressive backroom staff that Jim has assembled. The perfect role for Drummie to start his coaching career. Good luck.

It looks like McKenna has good knowledge of the lower leagues so will hopefully be able to find us a non league bargin or two.

Was he still under contract at Alty? or was it just a short term deal from Sept to the end of the season.

Great move for Drummy was hoping he would take over Jim's previous roles.

Well done Stu! Best of luck in your new role. If you can teach the young ones like Brian Healy once taught you, we will have a very secure future. :D

I thought I saw somewhere that he left Alty as soon as their relegation was confirmed.

He took over when they hardly had a point from about 12 matches and nearly saved them. Must know his onions :D :D

Absolutely brilliant, and as expected very astute. Three men who will work and work and work for Morecambe Football Club. And one defender, one midfielder and one striker, they talk about having a good spine to the team, well we've got a great spine in the coaching team (if you know what I mean)

Brilliant news!

Really pleased for Drummie. Jim McKenna comes with the experience that one or two were wanting to complete the jigsaw.

Dont know about everyone else but I havent been this excited about the forthcoming season than since our first season in the FL.

Fantastic news for Drummy, two legends out of the three at the top of the playing side of MFC.

Saw Jimbo with this McKenna fella on Saturday at the Globe without realising who it was, never heard of him before but he's obviously experienced and will be able to relate to Jim, being a posh scouser as well :P

Played all his career in the lower leagues so won't have the attitude that he's above MFC, and this will be a good opportunity for him to show what he can do. Hope he sees it that way.

Great stuff. Well done Jim, quick work. Two great appointments.

Congrats to Drummie. Well deserved and has lots of league and MFC experience to bring on our youth.

Welcome to the Morecambe family Ken!

Had a feeling that Stu could be involved and great that he will be reserve team manager. McKenna looks like he will be a good addition as well.

Welcome one and all.

It's going to be a season of transition. So we've ALL got to get behind the new team and accept that things may go wrong every now and then.

Funny isn't it? We've gone from 'the last of the Busby Babes' to a management structure that hardly anyone outside of their respective clubs will have heard of. And yet I agree with you, I can't wait for next season to begin. I really think we've got a great management who will achieve great things with Morecambe FC.

Welcome to the family Jim McKenna!
