Next season - in the stands

Next season - in the stands

Postby Crooky MFC » Thu May 12, 2011 8:24 pm

Now we've had a season to settle into the new stadium, I'd like to think as fans we are able to step it up next year ourselfs and produce a christie atmosphere throughout the season! The MBW has witnessed little passion, let's sort this out and bring some energy into the stands! It's time to get behind the new manager (whoever it may be) new players etc etc and drive the team forward!

Good shout Crooky.

I personally am still hoping we see the barriers painted RED !!!

Sure i read something about that earlier this season, and someone on here had agreed with Rod to get them painted ??

Hope so.

I think it was Wild Bill but Im sure there would be lots of volunteers if the paint was purchased.

A challenge for the guys starting off the chants perhaps;

The atmos at some of the away games was fantastic last season, but its disappointing when your hear the same tunes that we're singing from nearly everyset of home fans, and then again on MOTD, FLS etc etc.

I'm 100% sure that they're not copying us, so rather than logging on to youtube and seeing what everyone else is up tothis year, how about thinking of a few of our own.

Other than Bring me sunshine which doesn't get as much love as it should these days, we don't have any original chants, I mean ffs I saw a load of guys doing the Poznan at Barnet, I thought what the feck as that to do with Morecambe !

Anyway, pick a tune, put some words to it and if its catchy, humerous or half decent we'll join in, maybe we can use this thread for some ideas.

Completely Agree.

Also I thought that "Just cant get enough" tune was brilliant, but then gutted when I found out it a celtic copy, but something original along those lines would be spot on

perhaps this is something that the supporters club could organise Martin
raise a bit of cash and have a paint day at the ground a chance to meet up afterwards
ive still got a cople of tshirts with christie park paint on :D

i also like exeters idea on a sunday morning clean up around the stadium and then tea biscuits sarnies and a chance to natter meet up they do that every week
just an idea like that could take off for us too

If everyone is just stealing songs from Youtube, why not try some from foreign teams? Pretty sure it would confuse our opposition to hear us chanting something Icelandic.

To be honest the cobblers fans had it right, the atmosphere needs to be created next to the away fans. I.e either in the PMG stand as close to them as possible, that way there is more banter and more reason to be in full voice.

We'd let them know beforehand. That's what pre-season is for, seeing as we never win any friendlies.

I think it's undoubtedly true that the atmosphere isn't as good in the MBW stand isn't as good as it was in the North stand.... due to it's size acoustics etc.... but we definately need to bring back the christie roar. Having stood in the Bay Radio stand the atmosphere does sound better in there that in the MBW but behind the stand would have to be made so much bigger so we had space to congregate before that game. I think whats lacking is a pub outside ( those that want a quiet pint could still go in the bar and grill) the ground where everyone can meet mingle with away fans and sing like on away game. the generic nature of the singing doesn't help and i don't feel that all the people in the MBW stand feel they can join in because of the nature of some of the chants sung. we need to make the singing indivdual to morecambe...... purely supportive to the team and encourage everyone to get involved.

Singing before the game starts would help, definately a pub before the game to meet in as well especially to start the noise in there. Most clubs have home pubs where fans meet and begin to drink and chant, which is how new songs are learnt too.

Getting funny looks from
Everyone we meet.

Never stop messing around
Were to busy singing
To bring anybody down.

Yeah yeah
We're the Morecambe
Yeah yeah
We're the Morecame

Completely agree with Crooky.
It's gets annoying though when you try and create an atmosphere and get a negative response. The kind of response you get when you ask your son/daughter to wash up.
