Funny - I was looking at him the other week when I was trawling for potential new signings. Thing is he hasn't really had a great scoring record previously at our level, though he's done well for them this season.

We all know about Ross Hannah (Matlock) who is attracting a lot of interest.

I've also heard good things about Louis Briscoe (powerful, pacy young winger at Mansfield who is their top scorer).

Izale McLeod's contract is up in September and, though there's the geographical issue (albeit he has moved around a bit in his career), I think anyone who pursues him strongly enough and offers the right deal will persuade him not to re-sign with Barnet.

At Macclesfield Bencherif is out of contract in July, as is Izaak Reid, though both will have others interested in them.

Kissock at Southport, according to their fans, WILL definitely move to a higher division in the summer.

Bohemians winger Killian Brennan is looking for a move over here but looks like he's set his sights just a bit too high in the past and hasn't been taken on after trials at clubs like Doncaster and Sheff Utd - he might be a decent player at our level if he is more realistic.

There are plenty of good players who could be 'gettable' targets for a club like ours.

You may not get all your 'wanted list' but often it's the clubs who start talking to players earliest and let them know they are the ones they specifically want who get their men.

Our manager situation doesn't help with making an early start on pursuing players but the board are clearly wanting to work quickly on that so that the new man can get to work straight away.

Agree with a lot of those Shrimper. I don't think I can beat my tips last year of Matty Tubbs (37 goals this season for Crawley); Andy Bond (ever present at Colchester and 7 goals); Jimmy Ryan; Ryan Lowe etc. but there's a couple I've seen.

John Paul Kissock would be perfect under Jim Bentley as he's a bit tempremental apparently - £50K should get him but there'll be competition. Karl Ledsham from Southport is also worth giving a trial to.

Max Porter is a 23 year-old midfielder on Rushden's books and is out of contract. He began at Spurs and has been round a few non-league clubs. However he's recently progressed to England C and has been one of the stars in the Conference. Rushden's plight means he'll be available now.

I thought Izaak Reid was class against us however he is under 24 when his contract expires on 30th June so we would have to pay Macc a fee/comp, which may deter us dependent on his wage demands.

I think Bencherif is again under 24 so we would be in the same situation with him.

Reuben Reid, Like alessandra has also been released by oldham decent player, used to be at west brom, predominantely a striker but i think can play on both wings, travelled around a bit but is still young and has played the majority of his senior career in the higher leagues... maybe worth a punt?

Reuben Reid was superb at Rotherham whenever we played them. Unless he's lost it, he'd do someone a great job at our level.

this guy Ashley Grimes a Striker/Midfielder who did well in a struggling Lincoln side on loan from Millwall maybe a bit of a long shot but he is a Manchester lad fairly local and might fancy a permanent move and regular football back up here--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashley_Gri ... footballer)

Hope to see the following players next year, and i personally think if we sign these we will get the play offs because we already have a solid keeper and back four. What do you reckon guys i know a few of those players will be very difficult to get because of wages..... but who knows! 8-)

Sodje looks like he's staying at Bury now but would have sured up the back for next season alongside Parish. Grimes is a good shout on loan.

He has already put pen to paper

Chose Bradford even though League 1 and Championship were sniffing round. Great goalscoring record, pity Bradford will ruin it for him
