Im getting deja'vu, I had this conversation at lunch.

S & M - apparently approached after Fleetwood lost to Wimbledon

I'd be careful as that would be an illegal approach

Mellon has won over 50% of games in charge which is incredible.

Sammy is not god and can just walk in to a happy set-up.

I am only repeating what a reliable source has said.

Maybe all is not well at Fleetwood Town, Maybe, Just maybe Sammys experience is more valuable to a club at that level and they may want his input aswell as the guys that are already there

Who knows

Again, why would Fleetwood want to dispose of or replace Micky Mellon after all he has achieved in such a short space of time at Highbury ??

Micky Mellon isn't that great of a manager and the general consensus seems to be that the success at Fleetwood could have been achieved by pretty much anyone with the amount of money they are throwing around. It's a very similar situation to Brian Talbot at Rushden who achieved great success without actually being a very good manager but had huge financial backing behind him.

Sammy and Mark would be ideal for Fleetwood as they are in a similar scenario status wise to what we were in when they came. The financial clout behind Fleetwood would allow him to cherry pick a handfull of top players at that level to push them over the line and get them into the Football League which is essentially what they are good at.

And what talent, exactly, did we "cherry pick" in order to go up? David McNiven? Neil Sorvel?

You've answered your own question - Ged Brannan, Neil Sorvel and Danny Adams. Those three were proven league players who were strong in their positions and added to a very good squad. While it worked then it didn't now with a much thinner squad to build on.

To be fair Neil Sorvel although not popular did a cracking job for us, he did exactly what he was paid to do and did it very effectively. Always thought he was very undervalued for the job he did.

Ged Brannan was actually a Jim Harvey signing, the last one he made as manager of Morecambe I believe.

Danny Adams and Neil Sorvel however were essential signings at the right time of the season which proved invaluable in our success.

Not by me - always liked him when he played against us and then watched him as he progressed into the league. Then thought he did a solid job for us. Then I bought his shirt from Les at the end of season and still wear it for 5-a-side. :)

IF Sammy and Mark end up at Fleetwood, they go with the experience of twice doing what Fleetwood want to do now.

He may well just take his 'list of transfer targets' that he was presenting to our chairman and present them to the Fleetwood chairman.

They are beating a lot of clubs in transfer battles these days.

Anyway, there's still Bradford for him to talk to yet, according to some on their boards.

Although im sure they do have bills to pay, I don't think Sammy will be diving straight into a job anytime soon and rightly so. He went to hell and back trying to make it right for our club and drained himself as a result. If anything il think he'll take some time out and recharge his battery's as will Mark. When the time is right I believe there will be clubs queing for Sammys signature.

Can't prove these stats but I think I saw on Sky Sports Sammys win/loss/draw with us was 37% win.
Read somewhere that Fleetwoods manager has 50% win.

I would like to wish them well in their futures unless they face us ;)

If he went to Torquay we'd (probably) get stanners back
