Is the glass half full or half empty? Mmmm? hard to say - but it does look like there's room for more beer!

The guest of honour bit is a nice touch. Glad Lillis will get recognised too.

Full credit and appreciation to Sammy & Lill's for the great achievements and success they brought to the club. It's seemed like this has been on the cards for a long while now, but from what has been said, Sammy was offered a contract, but has decided against it. The Board can't have anyone else lined up yet. I'd like to think Jimbo is in with a good chance.

Thanks again to Sammy and Mark - those earlier years were all FANTASTIC!!!! As they say, all good things come to an end.

Yes I agree there, One person to come out of this with their head held high is Mark Lillis
Top bloke and true gent!
Sorry it didn't work out as Sammy had planned but that's football and another one joins the merry go round of not out of work for long managers who get handsomely paid off and fall back into another well paid position without really having to go looking

Thanks Sammy and Mark for the tremendous work you've done at Morecambe FC. You delivered us to the Promised Land of league football and forever will be legends at the club for doing so. Sunday 20th May 2007 will live long in the memory and for that we are all truly grateful.

The best of luck wherever you go next and thank you for the memories.

And what if Sammy's new club have a friendly on August 1st??

This is only 5 days before the season starts.
