Local Elections

Postby Lloydie » Fri May 06, 2011 3:09 pm

So what's the gossip, did any SV users get elected or did Posh and Darren Clifford lose as usual :o

Or have they all been locked up for suggesting Bez might crack Bare again

Posh has missed out but the seat was already held by the Greens previously.

Brookes, Dave Green 385 Elected
Gibson, Michael John Labour 283 Not Elected
Maxwell, Stephen Liberal Democrat 53 Not Elected
Sykes, Richard Conservative 125 Not Elected

No news on Big Red Dog yet

The two Greens previously in the University ward have been replaced by two Labour and everyone else is pretty much the same so far.

Parish Council results out tomorrow. No doubt not the only Parrish result to be announced.

It could be like waiting for a bus for him he waits for ages and then gets elected twice in a day.

Increased the Labour vote by quite a few and slashed the Green majority by a couple of hundred.

Labour gains from Greens and MBIs in a few places. Tory vote holds up reasonably well, Lib Dems decimated, same tale as around the country pretty much.

The most important result IMHO is the trouncing of the "yes" to AV by the "No" to AV.

I reckon if the player of the year awards were on AV then Alan Morgan might have won it

Has there been some sort of schism in the MBIs? Who the heck are these Independence 4 Morecambe folks that won a few seats on the Parish council? I notice Evelyn Archer is amongst them...

Well chuffed. Couldn't afford to win so pleased I didn't but got vote up from 110 to 283 and narrowed the majority. Lib Dems wiped out including council leader; Greens lost seats for first time and MBIs got a right kicking. Sandgrown lost his seat in Westgate.
