I'd hardly call it hide and seek. Wasn't he found living in a mansion fully 60 miles from the Pakistan capital? Not only do Pakistan cheat at cricket they now also seemingly harbour wanted terrorists. Ball tampering bastards, I demand that the result of the 2006 Oval Test Match be reversed back to an England victory.

Woke to find that the world is a less safe place than before.

There will be repercussions, that's for sure!

As for the 'celebrations' in New York.......

Al-Qaeda as an organisation was already severely weakened, to the point of almost being unable to operate. There are other groups that were already splintered from them. There may be a last fling from the remains of Al-Qaeda but I doubt it will be of much significance. Some of the other groups may use this as a recruitment opportunity now that Bin Laden is "a martyr" or if they have a major attack planned, bring it forward. Likewise, our home grown would-be murderers may bring an attack forward but they were almost certainly not Al-Qaeda.

Of course it will be interesting to see how things develop in Pakistan now? Will it become further destabilised? Was the Pakistani government closely involved in this? Presumably they were, so how will that be viewed by their own people?

In my opinion, the world is no safer and no more dangerous than it was yesterday. I'd have preferred it if he'd been taken alive and then spent the rest of his life in prison to avoid the martyr tag but in general terms, the world has one less evil man in the world today.

to me the name Al Qaeda is just a name

i just class them type of groups simply as islamic fundamentalists/exremists who's aim is for the world to be under islamic law

there crack pots who still live in the stone age

One thing I'll say for the Yanks, they don't give up 'till they get their man. If anyone is planning anything big I'm sure this message will be load and clear to them before they do whatever it may be.

Didn't the SAS have Osama cornered in the Tora Bora cave network years ago? Only for the yanks to lose him in some vain attempt to take the credit of his capture?

I still demand the Oval Test result to be changed, farce!

They should not have killed him. Al Qaeda will be attacking USA now for revenge.

What about Atherton at Lords against S. Africa?

It is one-eyed rhetoric like your post(s) that creates fundamentalist loonies like Osama.

Golly. What a simplistic, reactionary viewpoint you appear to have developed. I don't think USA got bombed because of a bit a name-calling, which I didn't do anyway but you appear to have eluded to.

And secondly, don't bring uncle Athers into this. He was innocently carrying dirt in his pockets to dry his hands with...as you do. Unlike messrs Akhtar (banned for picking the seam of the ball), Afridi (banned for eating the ball) and the other three jokers last summer (banned for spot betting). Cheats!!!!

My main point was how could the worlds most wanted man live within 2 hours of the capital of Pakistan without them knowing about it? Next to a military base? In a mansion? My guess is that the protection money ran out.
