I have had this tragic news confirmed, that Ken Parker died earlier today/last night. I am not aware of the full details but am anticipating the club making a statement later tonight as appropriate, on the official web site. I believe that Ken's family are all aware.

Condolences to Ken's family, he was a genuinely nice guy who did a lot for Morecambe FC and he will be very sadly missed.

Just seen the news. Really shocked. Ken helped the club in some of our darkest times and has been on hand to help ever since. Always made half time funny although he never knew it most of the time. Wonderful help with the SV videos and always a smile and a joke. A lovely man and he'll be sorely missed. Thanks for everything Ken.

A wonderful character.

I remember him mumbling "Ere, stop p1ssing about!" under his breath but over the tannoy to Marky S at half-time during one of the games this season. We were losing at the time and it brought a smile to my face and made me laugh.

RIP Ken, you will be missed.

Gutted is an understatement.

I was shocked to hear this news tonight. I spoke to Rod and the club are also shocked an saddened. Ken was a larger than life character who is a legend at Morecambe FC. People forget he was Chairman when we were promoted form the NPL to the Conference in 1995 and he has continued to be a fan and volunteer for the club.

On a personal note Ken was a top guy who was as sharp as a tack and played along with the banter at half time. We used to chat every week before and after half time and he loved the spotlight as well as being able to help raise money for the club. He could also take the mickey out of himself (If you have any doubt click on the link below and forward to 1 minute in). I have no doubt he was laughing today when they couldnt find the key ;)

Thank you Ken for all you have done for us. We will miss you.

R.I.P Ken

I first met him at Cumberland View Garage a good number of years whilst conducting the annual audit.

He has always looked a picture of health and it is really shocking news.

Ken was our landlord when we lived on Princes Crescent 5 years since.
He mischievously wound Doris up a couple of times on the phone.
RIP.
