Football League Clubs Revenue to be Cut by £23M

The new TV deal with Sky has reduced the money in total by £70M. It has already been noted that our player budget for next season will be less. I would hope for a bit of quality next season rather than what has seemed like lots of players who don't play very much.

The players who are already contracted should be happy, but the ones that aren't? Will be interesting to see if they insist on dragging it out and waiting for a better deal that may not materialise.

It seems the B.B.C. pay Lineker, Hansen and Shearer so much they have decided to pull out of the bidding

This on top of the retrospective cut in the money given to our club for the, excellent, football in the community scheme. Budgeted for an amount, then being told at Christmas there would be no more money :o .

It seems that it is FAR more important for the Premier clubs to have more money for their FIC schemes :!:
Our funding has been cut by around 50% :!: :!:

We need a bucket collection to help fund this important aspect of our club.

it will be the same for everyone in the football league just like any other employment sector at the moment, rates of pay will go down aswell as transfer fee's, managers and clubs will just have to be more carefull when signing players and giving contracts out willy nilly

if we do have to make cut backs, i cant see the point in Mark Lillis having a contract when we have Jim Bentley on match days taking warm-up training before KO and shouting from the touchline. now am guessing we must be at least be paying £1500 a week for Mark Lillis when that could go towards a deadly 20+ goal a season striker for example
