o/t Ticket Registration for 2012 Olympics

Postby marky No.1 » Thu Feb 17, 2011 12:57 pm

Just completed the form. Quite interested in some events but some of the prices for "better views" are

Shall see what happens. No doubt many will come up for sale on EBay nearer the time but at least they are trying to get the "ordinary" person have a chance. No doubt Corporate will be taking over everything though.

The swimming and athletics cross over for August 4th which is our 1st game of the season? and I believe we will be playing at home on that date??

Cheaper to buy an MFC season ticket than watch an evening of athletics in a nice seat. would like to see the Olympic Stadium though as you don't get a chance very often unless you are a West Ham Fan of course

If by ordinary people you mean anyone in the EU then you're right.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/others ... ckets.html

this is an old article so I have no idea if anything else came of it with regards to a change allowing Brits first refusal but for me, who whole hearty agrees that we should be part of the EU, this is still wrong. I mean were paying for it, we should at least have the option to enjoy it (and more direct cost to ourselves).

For what its worth I have also applied. Although many will argue its a waste of money, its here now, so lets enjoy it.

with regards to the ebay thing! be careful.

Could be an uncertain future for Leyton Orient.

It will affect the Daggers as well but it must be better for them West Ham getting it than another club moving into the area. If Spurs moved in as well the weeks West ham were away people might go to watch Spurs and vice versa.

Well spotted, that makes for an easier decision. BUT on the other hand has this now ruined pre season yet again?

I enjoy the warmer summery games. Looks like even more postponements and Tuesdays in far away places

Bring on the Olympics then.

Oh well. Waded through all the registering for events polava. You can apply for lots of tickets and not get any or on the other hand you may end up with a shedload :?

Interesting when applying for a particular priceband they ask you for what your highest priceband would be, so that you have more chance. In which instance you may be successful on your event but have to be careful that you don't tick the £450 box!!

In any case you don't know whether you have won or not till June but have to make sure there are enough funds there for them to grab just in case you are picked out.

Disaster waiting to happen I.M.O.

What a silly way of doing it. I don't know how many to apply for, on one hand I don't want to miss out, but on the other, I don't want to end up with a shed load of tickets and an unhealthy bank balance

I try my best Marky! Don't spoil what?

Want to see the athletics haven't applied for any yet, will apply for one of the sessions that has 100m in it. I can't believe the way they are doing it, shocking!

Some of the football to tickets are quite cheap!

Two weeks into the May 10th to June 10th payment period. No money gone out yet, what an annoying way of buying something!

It gets better. Had an email to say not successful yet, BUT the "vast majority" will be sorted by 31st May and certainly all by 10th June.

We will contact you by 24th June and if you fail you will have a second chance to bid for fantastic events such as Taekwondo, Handball and Beach Volleyball! :?

Can't wait

Over 1 million people applied for the 100 metres final tickets. 1 of the 5 quid ticket "winners" is from London, England. My congratulations go to Mr. Bhadweshwara

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-13618132

Some interesting stories here including someone who applied for 4000 quids worth and others who have had their bank accounts emptied but don't know which events or when for another 3 weeks :o

Bradley Wiggins family have to watch him on tv, as does Tom Dalys parents, even Boris the mayor of London failed. Apparently you can go on a German website and simply buy them !
