Capaldi UPDATE Sunday 9 Jan?

Thats what I thought M1! Have you written this article Heysham_mfc???

Roche bailed him out on Saturday, twice. He could and probably should have been punished for being sloppy on the ball. That said I actually think he has been solid throughout the last three games he has played, and looked good on the ball vs. Torquay. Again, not as world beating as hippie FM would have you believe but consistent enough at LB. More importantly, his inclusion has allowed Wilson to push forward and giving us some much needed pace down both flanks. I'd rather we signed a striker though if there are constrictions with our own budget.

You never know!

As for this deal, there may be a number of reasons why the deal may NOT go ahead. It's quite possible that Aberdeen have only offered a contract until the end of the season. It's also possible that he may not want to relocate his family and would be looking for Aberdeen to foot the bill for midweek accomodation on top of his salary.

It's no secret that I rate TC very, very highly and that I hope he chooses an extended contract with us that would possibly be on less money but give him some extra security long term.

He's too good a player to let go! Despite other respected opinions of fellow SCVs.

Some interesting statistics :

Tony Capaldi has started only 6 matches for the Shrimps

4 of the 6 matches have been wins of which 3 were away wins.

we have taken 13 points from the 6 matches he has started.

If we were in the SPL i'd expect us to finish at least in the top 3, although i would suspect some of my fellow SCVs/Capaldi/Man Utd/Harvey lovers would end up sending bullets in the post to Sammy if we only got 4th.

I agree with you Darren. We should sign him at all costs as it allows Wilson to play where he belongs.

Bloody excellent news.... :D :D :D

Just hope that we get a fair deal money wise IF Duffy goes.

As for TC I wonder what convinced him to sign till the end of this season? Whatever it was, congrats to those involved in securing his services.

Who knows...Who cares... :?: :?: :?:

I'm only interested in what goes on at our club and to secure his services albeit until the end of this season (and possibly longer?) is excellent news. After all, we're in a results based business and results when he's been playing of late have been much improved. :D

I agree. It's good news and it doesn't really matter what else happended as we have him until the end of the season. It's good to get it over with so we know who our left-back is. Now for the right wing position....

If Tony C. is staying it is really good news. I thought he was a v. good f/back when I saw him in that early reserves game last autumn at Kendal. He had a difficult start, but he does give us the option of pushing Willo forward on the left, where the latter can be a real nuisance to opposing f/backs.

Capaldi is fairly speedy and can cover other defenders well.
